Royal Sun

So, to start, this resort is not 4 star by any imagination. Do not be fooled by the reviews or holiday company pictures which show the deluxe apartments but not actually what you get. It is a block of apartments which are definitely in need of updating. The view is spectacular and if it was views alone it would be a 5 star hotel. The staff are very good and friendly. The pool is very cold even though it's advertised as heated. The gym is very good. The hotel entertainment is held in what looks like a 70s version of Bates motel with a small bar and it is awfully quiet of an evening. You couldn't be any further out of town, which is fine for us but if you do not like hills and walking avoid this place. The food at the hotel is very nice, however, normally you can swap one evening to eat at the a'la carte restaurant which you can't do here, which is a shame as it's pretty much empty most nights. So in summary do not come here expecting a four star hotel because it definitely isn't and we sat and watched the tui rep get hounded by other guests and their disappointment. The response was that the tui rep agreed but they give it four stars based on reviews and it's out of her hands. If you want a quiet hotel, maybe as a couple, to use as a base to explore then maybe it would suit, but even then you would probably be better going to bigger resorts with better transport. I personally wouldn't say I was disappointed with the place, but make sure your expectations align with what you will get for the price, and the kind of holiday you are thinking of. To summarize, it's ok, but don't be misled by the photos.

for the 4 th time at Royal Sun. Big rooms, Big terrace with seaview and a splendid view at te sundown. The breakfasts and eveningdinners were off a high level ( splendid buffets ) and the personal was very friendly. That was the reason that we came back for the 4th time. We will be back again !!!!!

I think this is our 9th trip to the Royal sun and for us it is home from home. We are booked again for November The staff are great and the views from the balcony are truly amazing. We have stayed in the standard and the luxury room and the views are the same from both. We have been told that the standard rooms are being updated slowly. After a busy day you can walk to the lovely local restaurants or just chill in your room. You can watch English channels or Netflix Apple TV etc which is perfect. Can’t wait to go back.

Spend 2 weeks at royal sun lovely hotel and all staff are friendly, Rooms are big and spacious and views are amazing,We went half board food was ok could be hotter , Entertainment well what can I say about this it wasn’t great it was poor just a hand full of people watching. All I all we did have a lovely relaxing time

Bel hotel,bon emplacement personnels très bien. Le buffet tres correct,et le restaurant Aqua...une très bonne table.Je le recommande vraiment. Los gigantes,une ville de taille agréable, une vie mer sur le port et les gigantesques falaises.
