Bakour Lanzarote Splash

Overall, we had a really lovely stay at Bakour Lanzarote splash. It was friendly, fun and comfortable and we would definitely recommend it. Our group had a 3 year old less confident swimmer and a 5 year old confident swimmer in the group, and the pools were perfect. The pirate pool was shallow and the warmest of the three pools. Both children went on all the water slides by the end of the week. The deepest swimming pool - was a bit too cold in the morning for our 3 year old to stay in, but there was plenty to do at the slides pools. The water entertainment, particularly the water carpet was fantastic, and by the afternoon the deep pool was warm enough and we all enjoyed it. My 5 year old loved the kids club, and Dani went out of his way to make the experience special for my daughter, she loved it and he was clearly a natural with all the children - they very much responded to his positive energy. The mini discos were great fun and enjoyed by all, particularly when Dani or Sergio were leading the dancing. Esteban was also wonderful fun. We didn’t stay for much of the evening entertainment beyond the mini disco, (due to bedtimes) though the magic show and the karaoke were fun. The rooms were clean and comfortable, ours was ground floor, secure and easy to access all areas of the site. Beds were all comfortable and the shower was lovely. We had an issue one day (turned out to be kettle shorting the electricity) which was immediately resolved. Food and drinks wise, there was always something tasty at every meal, and lots of fresh fish including marlin and Tuna and a lovely fresh salad bar. Lots of other choice to, and the cava and white wine included were both very drinkable. I particularly liked that you ordered from the poolside food place rather than self service because it stopped food getting everywhere so the pool side stayed clean all day despite the many young kids ( and in contrast to other hotels). I have read other reviews suggesting slow service at reception and bars but honestly, this was not our experience. We found everyone to be friendly and eager to help, keen to help the kids practise speaking a bit of Spanish and made lovely pina coladas and other cocktails. One negative was that there is a green area- possibly previously part of a pool with fake grass, which the kids gravitated towards for football and gymnastics. In the heat, the tar sticking the grass down melted and got on the children and their clothes. It would be great if the hotel could resolve (and we didn’t actually raise it at the time). Location wise it was an easy walk to the beach, which was nice and where you can hire parasols and pédalos and to the town, which had a friendly feel. We were there for canaries day and locals were keen to involve us and tell us about it. At the hotel they had specific food and drink around the day, particularly the special canary potatoes. Very enjoyable all round. At checkout we were able to use a room later to shower and use all facilities until we left, staff were eager to help with taxis to get us to airport. Overall, a wonderful holiday made particularly good by Dani from kids club, all the staff, and the location.

Sounds great and looks great on Internet, But. It is massively understaffed in all areas! The food is bland and mostly what should be hot is cold and what is meant to be cold is hot. Serverd RAW Chicken and RAW fish on many occasions and asked Rude chef (if that's what you call them) to re cook to be given it back still RAW!! Most food not labelled or even a description of it. Breakfast is a massive let down too as egg person rude and very unhelpful along with no fresh made to order omelette just the luke warm buffet offering. Bar staff mainly as bad,except for Esterban, man in van by kids pool. Drinks once you finally get them in the queues are OK when there correct. I will say the rooms (or our 4) were all good, modern and spacious. Also Internet very sketchy and non existent in most areas. I personally with our party of 14 who have visited Lanzarote many times would look elsewhere!

Short transfer and a quick checkin. We got a taxi from the airport for €16 but had to wait in a queue for about 45 minutes 🙄. Room was great and really close to the pools. Drinks were great too. The cocktails were decent if not strong and the wine/good enough too. Kids loved the mock tails and hot chocolate. Food good too. Lots of options and help with gluten free stuff for the fussy ones. If you ask they will make you gluten free chips and give you muffins, crackers etc. Ice cream machine was a hit but only had mint flavour syrup which was a little strange. We never used the daytime food round the pool but it all looked good. Pool was typically cold for the time of year but didn't stop any of us enjoying it. Our youngest (9) LOVED the splash park and spent hours running around it with her wee pal she made. The surrounding area isn't busy but close to the main sea front bars/restaurants if you wanna explore. A few small supermarkets across the road, an Aldis right next door and a huge shopping centre only 5 minutes walk. The evening entertainment was better than usual, if you like that sort of thing. Singers, gymnastics, bingo etc. Daytime entertainment wasn't up to much. A few locals played some games with the kids and dressed up as a fish. To be fair they had a program of things to do but most of the guests just wanted to laze about. The highlight for me was when they pulled out one of those floating mats and we tried to run along it. In conclusion we would defo go back and recommend this place as a good 3/4 star for an all inclusive family holiday.

Absolutely loved this place, a hidden gem. Beautiful modern rooms, a really good selection of food and a staff what more can I ask for from a holiday. Location great too, easy access to the town and beach would definitely return someday in the future 😄

I visited the hotel for 2 days on day passes as I had family staying there. The hotel is amazing for families - especially with the younger children. The splash park is brilliant and kept all kids entertained throughout the day. I ate in the restaurant which is included in the day passes and the food was ok. Plenty of options and was different both days (for lunch only) For other drinks and snacks you pay as you go at the bar area. Wouldn’t recommend staying if you don’t have younger children or can’t tolerate a lot of younger children. Aha
