Vibra Caleta Playa Apartamentos (ex. Vacances Menorca Caleta Playa)

I booked this many months ago reviews were mixed, generally good. However on arrival the room and surroundings were disappointing. The rooms need an update the bathroom is mouldy and in a poor state of repair. The kitchen is tiny and the microwave where it sits you can’t open the door properly. We struggled to make the most basic of meals. The on site supermarket bakery was handy for buying baguettes for lunch time. The one bed apartments are small but had 2 balconies we put our 3rd bed in our bedroom for more room which helped. There was plenty of pools to choose from which helped and you could always get a lounger however some was broken and pools where in a poor state of repair my daughter spent time collecting broken tiles!! There where areas which was an abandoned having being used previously just closed up a lovely roof terrace which could be utilised such a shame. We stayed in the main building but if you was in the cottage’s you where cut off as no reception nor evening service in bars or restaurant you had to walk across. The beach is handy as very close and the bar sells drinks and snacks there it’s worth watching the sunset too. The breakfast we had was ok and reasonable choice. However we was lead to believe there was bars and restaurants locally however they was very few and didn’t have a great food choice for kids. We did venture out but after getting stuck getting a taxi back waiting for 45 mins. We asked the hotel for help but they was unable to call us one. Overall we had a good holiday our daughter enjoyed herself and all families we encountered were lovely. The entertainment was pretty good and we watched most evenings. I would return to Menorca but not this area. All staff encountered were helpful and friendly.

This hotel needs a complete renovation. Broken tiles and drains around the pool area. So much mould around the pools. You can hear everything when you are in your room from the room above and to the side. We were there during a bad storm and the rain water was coming through the door. I also sadly got my brand new charlotte tilsbury eyeshadow palette stolen from my room and all the reception team have said is “sorry it has not been handed in at reception” (of course it’s not going to get handed in, someone has stolen it from my room). The food available at dinner was pretty poor. Positives: the beach cove is lovely which is literally a stones throw away from the hotel. We visited citudela one evening which was lovely (only 6euro in a taxi). The breakfast was nice. But sadly I will not be returning to this hotel.

We stayed here in early August as a family of 4, half-board for 11 nights. Positives- The location is quiet but picturesque. Next to a beautiful cove & within walking distance to a tiny cove for snorkelling. Can watch the sunset on the rocks near the beach. Within easy reach of Cala Santandria, Ciutadella, Cal’en Bosch & two water parks either by bus or taxi. Friendly, helpful staff Clean apartments( thank you Carmen!)& communal areas. Good air conditioning & water pressure. Several pools to use, the lagoon pool had the better atmosphere. Evening entertainment enjoyable even if not particularly amazing every night. Water was free at evening meal and the safe was free( deposit required) Birthday gift left for my husband which was a nice touch. The vibe in the complex was relaxing with a mix of nationalities Negatives- dated & quite small for a one bed apartment. Food ok but there could be a wider variety, better quality produce and more dessert choices. The chefs& restaurant staff worked hard though. Sunbeds need updating & increasing. On-site supermarket could improve but handy for water, drinks & snacks Elements of the negative reviews are true, however, if you can overlook the dated aspect of this hotel, you’ll find the location a good base for exploring & lazy days around the pool or on the beach are enjoyable. It is clear that this hotel is in need of renovation but the staff try hard within the limits they are given& we could see while we were there that they are actioning issues raised on trip advisor. On our last day, a member of the guest experience came to ask for our opinion on our stay which gave us the opportunity to feedback positives & negatives face to face. Having not experienced this before on our previous holidays, we felt this was very proactive. On the whole we had a lovely holiday.

Awful experience. After a storm, our room flooded and it took the hotel 6–7 hours to finally clean the room, despite repeated requests. You’d expect flooded rooms to be treated as a priority, but this clearly wasn’t the case. Staff were unhelpful, dismissive, and even dishonest at times. We also asked for extra blankets for our children (as the air conditioning made them cold and our originals had become damp) – these took over three hours to arrive. Overall, extremely poor service and disappointing stay.

Currently here now and it’s been nothing short of awful, the place is so tired, there’s missing tiles everywhere meaning my children keep hurting themselves falling over, thick black rings of mould around the swimming pools, a serious lack of sun beds being put out with people having to lay on floors despite it not even being particularly busy - and to add to this, out of our window we can see stacks of unused sun beds. The shop here stocks barely anything, the food options are £1 oven pizzas heated up and you’re charged €15 for the privilege. The rooms- run down and dated, dirty. Given a travel cot that’s broken, went to call reception - phones not even connected. Fridge has spilt food from previous guests inside, the plugs for the kettle/microwave black with dirt. Shower doesn’t drain properly so you have to take quick 4 minute showers to avoid flooding the place. What topped this stay off for us, is that there was a storm last night. Heavy rain, the windows aren’t water tight.. woke up to the entire room flooded, my children’s clothes soaked and dirty from the water dragging out the dirt in this place. Called at 8am to report and it took them 7 hours to attend despite there being three kids in here (aged 5 months, 3 years and 5 years). We chased up eight times with no response or urgency. We’ve just returned to the room to find that the floors are still soaked, meaning that on the hard tiles my kids slip over- including me while holding my baby! No towels given, and left with our belongings soaked. Chased up again with reception who have told us somebody will come out to clean and give towels - we are currently sitting here waiting, my partner has just checked and they ticked it off their system as done when it isn’t. An absolute joke at the best of times, no apology and no attempt to fix with perhaps some laundry arrangement etc. sadly I’m still here until Tuesday. AVOID
