Vibra Caleta Playa Apartamentos (ex. Vacances Menorca Caleta Playa)

Booked through tui as a package deal. We arrived at 10am and was told that check in isn’t till 2pm which was fine, went back at 2pm and was told that it still wasn’t ready and that they would call when it was. 4.30pm with a crying child and still no call so went back to reception waited and finally got a key. I don’t know why we waited so long as the apartment stank of mildew and had not been touched for ages and the resort was pretty empty. The cupboard door was hanging off in the kitchen, the tv, toaster and kettle were all not working. The shower head spat the low pressure water sideways making the floor soaked which I slipped on. The blankets were blood stained and smelled awful so we didn’t use them. I did inform the reception and they sent new appliances and sent a cleaner. The key card kept resetting itself so had to go back to reception numerous times. All of this was made a very stressful holiday as I was travelling with an autistic child. One of the lifeguards was a bully, telling our children that they can’t swim in the deep end even though they are competent swimmers and they were with us. She called my 6 year old stupid in Spanish thinking that I would not understand her and she snatched his inflatable ring off him saying it belonged to another child when it was his. The other child’s family also confirmed that the toy wasn’t theirs. Not really a lifeguards job to get involved in toddler squabbles! She was standing with her whistle ready to start beef with people. The water slide was taped off and not in use for the whole stay which was the reason why we chose that place. The beach and location were beautiful, it’s such a shame that this resort is so poorly managed.

I was slightly concerned about visiting after reading reviews but I needn’t of worried. We arrived at hotel and were greeted by friendly staff. Our room wasn’t quite ready (early morning flight) so we left our number and had a walk around. They promptly rang as soon as our room was ready. The room was ok, a little tired looking and in need of updating but clean. We had a one bedroom apartment which was adequate for the three of us. Kitchen was small (you wouldn’t be able to cook a big family meal in it) but as we were planning on eating out every night it was fine. The hotel grounds were lovely . You have use of three separate pools and other facilities throughout the complex. There was daytime and evening entertainment however we didn’t make much use of this. The beach (a stone throw from the hotel) is stunning, Crystal clear water, great for snorkelling. The area is very quiet with a handful of eating place nearby, Cala Blanca, Cuitadella and Cala n Bosch all within a short distance with lots of choice of bars and restaurants. There is a bus stop right outside of the hotel which will take you to all these places in less than 15 minutes, costing less than 2 euros per person.

Great apartment very clean staff were very friendly and helpful. Alexandra was super friendly pools and beaches clean and very close to apartment food was great choices. Only downside to the whole Holiday was the food was cold would definitely return again tui rep in hotel was extremely helpful.

Well, what can I say. If you are looking for a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing holiday then this is the place for you. My husband and I have just spent a week here and we went not expecting too much due to some of the reviews that we read. We were proved wrong though, things really could not have been any better. All of the staff members that we met were charming, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We were especially fond of a lovely lady named Alexandra, she really cares about her job and making sure that everyone is happy and being well catered for. The hotel has a policy of not allowing sunbeds to be reserved and this really is a huge bonus as there are always ample sun beds free, no matter what the time of day. There are a few pools here and we chose the largest one to spend most of our time, it really was blissfully quiet and having a few cold beers from the pool bar just topped things off. In terms of the restaurant we stayed bed and breakfast and the food was rather good, with a large selection to choose from, the pastries and pancakes were particularly good. The hotel is situated just off a small cove and it is just stunning, we spent many happy hours here, again blissfully peaceful. There is a small supermarket within the hotel for basic essentials, but if you need more there is a fantastic Spanish supermarket approximately 15 minutes away on foot. In terms of our room, yes it was a little dated and in need of a little bit of attention but this really didn’t matter as it had so much going for it ie it was large and airy, has a small functional kitchen and the air con is magnificent, best of all though is that we had 2 balconies, yes 2, both with a very pleasant view. So, in a nutshell…if you want a peaceful relaxing time surrounded by lovely people and places then you can do no better than to visit this hotel, it is absolutely spot on and we will definitely be returning. Great location next to the beach but very peaceful, lots of variety at mealtimes, comfy pillows, and nice shower. All the pools were fabulous, open until 7pm so perfect for a late afternoon swim. When we came the sea was a bit rough for swimming so the pool was a wonderful alternative
