Riu Palace Boavista

Bar and serving staff great and up for a laugh. Really nice time for our two week stay, propping the bar up every night, except the two nights we went next door for the themed nights. Then we were missed, not only by the staff but the other guests, saying we were part of the furniture lol. Food brilliant too, and a great choice to be had.

My wife and myself have just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel .This is our second time at this hotel and was just as nice as the last time we visited 4 years ago .We got upgraded from a 2nd floor room to a swim up room as it was our wedding anniversary Which we thought was a lovely touch .Our room was spotless and very spacious with a mini fridge and optics which was a lovely touch.The beach area was lovely with plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The bars were very friendly and the barmen were very polite and had a great sense of humour .As for the food it was fantastic a large choice the only little moan I have is the flies at breakfast time .They were very annoying at times.Maybe the hotel could put a few fly traps up in places. Evening meals there were no flies at all But all in all the food was lovely. We are already thinking about returning later this year .It truly is a fantastic hotel

We stayed here over Easter 2025, and overall we found it an excellent place to stay for the two weeks. Overall the standard was very high, and the staff were all fabulous and keen to look after you. There were certainly plenty of staff around at all times. Rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable and kept that way. The food was excellent, almost too much choice, always well presented wherever you were amongst the restaurant offerings. The bookable restaurants were all very good, our favourite was the Japanese one as it was a different experience and again the standard was excellent. The hotel is very generously spaced out so although the capacity is quite big, it never felt crowded even at a peak time such as Easter. There was always space around the pool.. The beach was lovely, but sparsely used because of the wind which blows pretty much all day everyday and swimming is pretty much not possible though if you like kite-surfing then this will be a paradise. There is not a lot to do on the island so trips are limited to island tours of various types but if you’re there at certain times of the year there is the opportunity to see the whales or the turtles. We were there in whale watching season and were very lucky. Overall can’t recommend it enough as a place for a high quality, relaxing holiday
