Just returned from our second stay at the wonderful Cordial Magec Taurito apartments, having previously stayed in Summer 2023. Both times on a self catering basis. We would like to thank Asun and her team for facilitating our room request prior to arrival, to have the same room as our first visit :) and also a special thanks to David on reception who was both helpful and professional on a couple of occasions and is a real credit to your team. I have been to both Gran Canaria and Tenerife more than 20x each over decades and the Cordial Magec Taurito is at a real sweetspot of price versus quality. Yes you may find more luxurious properties for more money and you'll certainly find a lot worse for less money, but its a new and fairly modern property with really good beds, and furniture, a big modern bathroom (shower only) and its cleaned meticulously. Being up a hill, The views from the large double balconies are good and many will have sea view. The hotel could possible do with some kind of pull down veranda or parasol on the balconies (there is none) for after around 1pm the sun is shining full on all the balcony and it gets hot and without shade. The pool is a perfect warmish temperature as its climatised to a fixed water temperature, there's ample sunbeds, a nice pool bar and a smaller games rooms for kids. Its the perfect place for a family holiday, however.......... Taurito itself is probably an aquired taste, the actual centre has a big arcade games hall, mini golf a water park (which is a bit older but pretty decent value) and shops, at night theres a big stage area with half cut people singing along to stuff like the Macarena, so lots for kids/familes but we personally find Taurito itself, a bit chavvy, functional but a bit Butlins'esque. The only one supermarket there is tiny and limited so for all these reasons, I'd strongly recommened that anyone staying here and on Self catering, hires a car. There is a bus stop a ten minutes walk down the hill and taxis, but having the car and using the Hotel as a base is why we love it so much as the Island has so much to see and do, so many wonderful towns/villages and places to eat, and if you dont venture much out of Taurito you're missing out! There is a hotel car park for hire at aound 5 euros per day. Thanks again for a wonderful holiday, we miss you already and for sure we will back again.

Location is good if you’re looking for a pool holiday, poor for anything else. Buses are good in the local area but a car is much better if you’re staying in Taurito. Taxis to Puerto Rico are around €15 and much more to Mogán. The hotel restaurant wasn’t to our taste. Breakfast was fine, but Dinner was awful, lack of options, don’t go if you have dietary restrictions. Also felt like a canteen as you were expected to clear your table to a centrally placed slop trolly after eating. Pool bar is handy although bar regularly closes early at night which is understandable if quiet. Don’t expect peaceful sunbathing by the pool, games room is right next to the pool and is very loud. We were staying in 312 and could hear the noise of the games room in our room even with the doors closed and locked. Staff are lovely and very helpful. The hotel is very modern and clean. The apartments are a good size with full size fridge freezer which is handy. The car parking situation is a total nightmare. Costs €6 per day and you are allocated a space but regularly come back to find your space taken by another car. It’s also very tight parking.

This is the second time we've visited this hotel and it was as good as the first time. The apartments are large, bright, airy and clean. We had one with a small garden which would be ideal if you had a young child with you. The breakfast is now even better than last time with a good choice of hot and cold foods. All the staff were friendly and helpful including reception. The chef, Analissa, went out of her way to help if you wanted something different. Lina and Driss, in the restaurant and bar, were always cheerful and welcoming. We would go back there again. It is a steep walk up the hill if you are not very mobile but it is manageable. There is not a lot of choice of restaurants and bars in the resort but a short bus ride away takes you to Amadores beach where there are plenty of lovely restaurants.
