Iberostar Waves Gaviotas Park

We spent 6 nights in the Eastern holidays at the hotel with 3 kids (3,7,10 yrs old) in a sea-view family suite. The hotel is part of a three hotel complex both operated by Iberostar so a little easy to be confused. The Waves Gaviotas Park is the upmost on a hill next to the beach out of the three and is definately dedicated to families with smaller kids. The other two hotel (Gaviotas Playa a 4star and the Selction a 5star) are closer to the beach and might be suitable for couples without children. Our hotel was almost completely refurbished only the pool area wasn’t resurfaced. The room had a well thought layout with a simple but nice ocean-surf-waves minded design. The hotel has a beatiful maintained garden with lush palm trees. food and bevarages selection was exceptional, wasnt boring or repetitive at all. Drinks were AI even with baseline but branded alcohol selection. Animation and kids programm were also wide ranging with caredully selected evening shows. Cleanliness was imaculate both in the room and in the common areas. The beach was stunning and beautiful with not then biggest waves on the shore. Definately would return again.

Positives: - Very friendly and helpful staff - Terrific entertainment team (shout out to Kati) - Excellent facilities for the kids - Good location with easy beach access Watch outs: - limited veggie options despite wide variety of food - IHG over stretching a little in driving revenue, as the hotel can feel crowded, especially around the pool where getting a lounger can be a challenge Overall, fair value and a good family holiday

This is the 3rd Iberostar hotel we’ve stayed at as we think the brand are great for kids and always done nicely whilst being good value. There were pros and cons for this hotel: Pros- - Greeted with drinks and a warm welcome (they were a bit pushy with trying to get us to do an upgrade though!) - Recently refurbished so the main areas and the room were lovely. - We had a family suite and it was huge. Plenty of room for 3 of us. It smelt terrible when we first checked in but we left our windows open and by the end of the day it was better- not sure what it was?! - Close to a nice beach. - Most of the staff were super friendly, especially with our son. - The bar area by the pool is relaxing and we enjoyed the BBQ night down there. Cons- - The main kids pool with the inflatable pillow was out of action the whole week. Our son wasn’t that disappointed but it did mean that the main pool and other kids pool were very busy. - Sun beds were reserved with towels from the crack of dawn! If we came to the pool in the afternoon after the beach there would often be no bed whilst loads of them were empty but with towels left on them. We’ve not had the problem before- maybe because it’s a bigger hotel than we’re used to? - Out of all the Iberostar’s we’ve stayed in the food and entertainment were not as good here. The food was ok but compared to the others there was less choice and a lot of the cooked foods were over cooked. The entertainment was in a hall which was so hot so it wasn’t enjoyable and the general quality of the shows wasn’t that good. Our son did enjoy the scientist show one night. All in all though we did have a lovely holiday here and we got a good deal through Jet2 for the whole holiday. I would definitely recommend hiring a car and exploring some of the beautiful beaches close by and the Oasis Wildlife park.

Lovely hotel , very clean good choice of food and drinks . Pools heated and great entertainment , kids loved it and the family suites were so spacious and roomy . Was necessary to get down to pool to secure a sunbed as we were a group of 15 , beach was easy to access and lovely to .
