Hotel Palazzo Doglio

Beautiful hotel, beautiful architecture, rooms well serviced. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo Doglio. Location is excellent. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Our room overlooked the square and we enjoyed that. Breakfast is really good and the staff is kind and professional. Strongly recommend this hotel.

A great hotel. Rooms were large, very comfortable and the air conditioning quiet and effective. We had rooms overlooking the square but we weren’t bothered by any noise. We really enjoyed the variety of breakfast food available and the excellent coffee. The location was perfect, not far from the Bastion Saint Remy. Naomi and Giovanni were excellent, knowledgeable and very helpful in their suggestions, as were all the reception staff. We took a private transfer to Poetto beach and a recommended beach club, Sam’s Beach, which was a very pleasant way to spend the day. Also, if you enjoy history, the Roman excavations at the Museo del Tesoro e Area Archeologica di Sant’Eulalia were very interesting. All the staff at the hotel and the bar were friendly, professional and made for a fantastic holiday. Excellent restaurants in the square and within walking distance.

I stayed at Palazzo Doglio recently and honestly had such a great time. Right from check-in, the staff made me feel welcome — friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Every interaction felt genuine, and it was clear they really cared about making my stay enjoyable. I booked a suite, and it was even nicer than I expected — big, beautifully decorated, and super comfortable. It was spotless, and I loved the little details that made it feel special. After a day of exploring Cagliari, it was so nice to come back and just relax there. The location is great too — close enough to walk to the main sights, but still quiet and peaceful at night. I left feeling refreshed and already know I’ll come back next time I’m in Sardinia.

Palazzo Doglio is the perfect place to stay in Cagliari. From check in to check out, everyone is professional, helpful and charming. It's worth upgrading to a room on 3rd floor facing the courtyard as the roadside is noisy. The rooms are well appointed, stylish, air con is efficient and the balcony overlooking the courtyard is lovely. Water, coffee etc is replenished daily. The cleaning ladies were delightful, however I was a little disappointed that the floors and balcony were not swept/washed daily, which is usually standard in a 5* hotel - we had a day at the beach and the floor felt sandy on our return but it remained like that for the rest of our stay, I could see the floors were never cleaned as there were marks that remained all holiday. That is a minor gripe as other than that the rooms were kept beautifully. Breakfast was good, continental, and as much tea and coffee as you like, cereals, fresh fruit, meats & cheeses along with the usual croissants and cakes. You could order specials such as eggs benedict at an extra charge. There are plenty of choices of restaurants in the complex to suit all needs and also some just outside, Hublot Club in the marina is good for lunch, and Cafe Svizzero is a wonderful old cafe in the town. We were expecting great things from the Osteria, however we were very disappointed in the food, it was not anything special, the hotel had publicised it as michelin standard and we were very disappointed. The best in the complex for fish is Pirani, choose your freshly caught fish and have it cooked and table served there and then, fabulous amuse bouche and delightful treats after the meal, the service is also excellent. The cakes in the patisserie are gorgeous. If you just fancy a pizza the pizzeria is also very good. Gianluka in the hotel is 'the knowledge' on Sardinia, where to go and what to do. He is a delightful gentleman who will help with anything you require. We absolutely loved the Palazzo and Sardinia, we will be returning to this very special island with the most delightful people, there is a treasure of history here which needs to be explored.
