Hotel & Restaurant Al Pescatore… such an amazing place! Placed into the fascinating Gallipoli old town right in front of the sea where you can definitely enjoy the beauty of the city of Gallipoli. The building is very characteristic, an old monastery turned into a very nice and warm place to stay, keeping the classical atmosphere of Salento. Here you will find Luciano, the owner, with his family and his staff which will make you feel in a special and warm environment cuddling you from the very first step in the building. The rooms are essential and clear and some of them have a nice view on the sea. The plus of this place is the restaurant for sure where you could try the freshness of the unbelievable local seafood cooked by Luciano and the other members of the kitchen. If you wanna experiencing what Salento means this is the right place for you

The hotel itself is well located, but is only conveniently accessed on foot. The rooms have been refurbished in the simple Italian style, and are clean and comfortable, with a good bed and shower. The breakfast offering is ample. However, despite the pictures showing attractive public areas, there's no usable lounge or terrace seating. Staff / service a bit variable, and the concept of ordering food or drinks to the room not available.

My partner and I have just enjoyed a lovely week at Al Pescatore and could not have wished for more 😊 The location is unrivalled. Glorious views of the port and the beautiful coastline beyond and perfectly placed for all that the ‘centro storico’ has to offer. On arrival we were welcomed by a very efficient and knowledgeable member of the reception team. Not only did she tell us about the hotel and give us information about parking but she also assisted with our luggage. All the other people on reception whom we encountered were similarly helpful. Our room was on the first floor and commanded a stunning view. We had chosen a triple room just for the benefit of a bit more space and it totally met our needs in this regard. There was plenty of storage space, the bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning did its job well considering the outdoor heat. The bathroom was adequate and everything worked. Considering the age and nature of the building, this is to be commended! Breakfast was served buffet style in an airy room adjacent to the restaurant bearing the same name as the hotel. There was a good selection of both savoury and sweet items. Special mention to the fruit tarts and also a chocolate pastry…both delicious and a real treat! Fruit juices, water, tea and coffee available to self serve but if espresso, cappuccino and so on were wanted, two very efficient staff were on hand to oblige. Worth mentioning that hotel residents enjoy a 10% discount if choosing to eat lunch or dinner at Al Pescatore restaurant. Definitely worth taking up this offer as the restaurant is very good. I can highly recommend Al Pescatore as a great place to stay whilst visiting this beautiful town and would very happily stay again.

A hotel full of character & charm. Very friendly, helpful & polite staff. Beautiful view of the fishing harbour from our lovely room. The outside restaurant, also with the harbour view, was perfect for breakfasts & dinners but we also really liked the character of the ‘cellar’ room for breakfasts, especially on very hot mornings, when the air conditioning was most welcome! We booked for bed & breakfast but were able to have meals at a discount in the evenings too - the food was delicious! It looks as though there are plans ahead for developing the middle courtyard into an outside seating area, which would add to the whole experience of staying in this beautiful, relaxing hotel

WE were ripped off by the owner of this hotel. Booking.com made a huge mistake and quoted us a price 4 times the official €85 a night duping us to think it was atop notch hotel. The owner refused to let us pay the official price and charged us double. Do not stay here. It is not worth it as there is a noisy road right outside
