Stayed at PortoBay Blue Ocean in the Algarve with friends and had the best time! The hotel is new, modern, and the rooms are super comfortable. Spacious balcony offered gorgeous sea views - perfect for relaxation. The main pool is big and deep, plus there’s an infinity pool on the upper level. Tons of comfy loungers and umbrellas, plus cozy shaded terraces under pine trees where you can relax and read or listen to music. Breakfast on the main terrace overlooking the ocean was an amazing start to the day. Live music by the pool during the day and at the bar at night made the atmosphere even better. Daily Happy Hour! At night, if you don’t feel like heading out, the hotel’s buffet dinner is delicious. And for a nightcap, you can’t beat the over-the-cliff bar with absolutely breathtaking views. Free parking is a nice bonus. Loved it here and would highly recommend!

We stayed here in August 2025. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet had a large variety of food and everything was excellent. We also enjoyed the dinner buffet one evening at the hotel. We had drinks and sandwiches by the pool cafe most days. We love the bar overlooking the ocean. All the common areas are beautiful and well kept. We especially enjoyed all the seating options, including the raised porches overlooking the water. Both the adult pool and the family pool were really nice. The service from the front desk to all the waiters were great. We thought it was a good location, we did take a 10 minute Uber drive into town one night for dinner. There are also restaurants within walking distance from the hotel closer in town. There is a parking garage you can pay for, but it was full when we were there, but we were able to find street parking. Would recommend this resort for families.

On 15 July 2025, the Portobay Blue Ocean hotel was opened, after a thorough overhaul and renovation of the former TUI Blue Falésia hotel. It’s located in Olhos de Água, on top of the cliffs near a marvelous beach, with breathtaking views. It’s an outstanding, spacious and spotless accommodation, which will appeal to those who are looking for a relaxed holiday in the Algarve. The interior design of the rooms and the public areas is magnificent and the facilities are great. A large outdoor pool, another (adults only) pool on the first floor, an indoor pool, spa area, more than enough comfortable sun-beds (fortunately no early-morning towel race !), tennis court, fitness room, terraces with a sea view and a little shop. Enjoy a cocktail or other drink at the Lounge Bar, with a daily happy hour (50% discounts). The Lima Bar at the pool offers nice snacks and drinks service. In the afternoons and evenings the hotel offers live music performances. The Mercado Restaurant offers an excellent breakfast and dinner buffet as well as an à la carte lunch. Besides this restaurant, you can have a delicious evening meal at the Flor de Sal brasserie. Highly recommended!! Guests can also use facilities at the neighbouring sister hotel, the Portobay Falésia (don’t forget to book a dinner at the Il Basilico restaurant!). The hotel staff are very helpful and friendly; thanks so much for the great service! We really enjoyed our two-week stay at the Portobay Blue Ocean and will definitely book again!

Beautiful hotel and the rooms were really nice. Defintelty more modern and new than their sister hotel next door. Good location close to the beach, a lot of sun loungers by the pool and a nice tennis court. The negative part of our stay is that we expected much better food for the price we pay for this hotel. Breakfast buffet and the restaurants for lunch and dinner were very average. Also, quite expensive for very basic food/dishes. Improvements that can be made: elevate your restaurants and their menu. Breakfast could have much more variety and better quality.
