Classik Hotel Alexander Plaza Berlin

Great location and nice hotel overall. Staff interaction was zero; I checked in late using the self service kiosk and no staff around in reception, checked out using the online link but again no staff. The room was immaculately clean, a solo with a view of the TV Tower. It was compact as expected, and had to duck so as not to hit my head on the sloping ceiling, but I’d seen the photos when booking so expected that. The bathroom was also small as expected for a solo but the shower was massive. Nespresso machine was provided and refills given daily. Slippers were provided but no dressing gown as advertised; I didn’t ask as I wasn’t fussed and was just using the hotel as a base eating out for every meal - out early and back late as so much to see in three days. The main downside was there is just one lift in the hotel, it’s slow and for the number of rooms woefully inadequate. I found it easier to take the stairs in the morning but getting back at late I’d settle in for the long lift wait, tired feet from traipsing around Berlin. Would I stay again? Yes I would. It suited me. If you’re looking for a luxury pampered experience this isn’t for you, but it was about £150 per night for pure city centre so was comfortable with that.

Nice hotel a few minutes walk from Hackescher Markt station - easy transport from airport and walking distance to shopping and restaurants, museums. Basic double room quite small with no view but quiet with high ceilings, clean, everything in good condition. Fridge with mini bar stuff for sale. Good shower. Electric kettle, real glasses and cups. No temp control in room could get chilling even in summer. Towel rack doesn't have much heat so can't properly dry towels. Expensive breakfast. Secure luggage storage.

Me and my family (4 persons) were assigned two rooms. The rooms were nice enough, however we soon noticed black mold in the showers. One more than the other but both rooms had an issue. Upon telling this to the receptionist he suggested he would send housekeeping to clean it up. This was not a solution we would be ok with since black mold is a health hazard and we didn’t want our children to live in it. We were then told that there was no rooms available until tomorrow and that it would only be one room that could be changed if we wanted to be on the same floor as our kids. Unhappy with the solution and lack of compensation for our inconvenience we agreed since the receptionist told us that he could not tell us if we could change hotels and get our money back. Reportedly there would be no manager, who could answer these questions, in the hotel until Monday (this was a Saturday) which seems outrageous to me. The next day we moved out of one room and when we got back, imagine our surprise when we were offered a room two floors from what we agreed upon. We then wanted to move the second room to the fifth floor but apparently that was not possible and we still couldn’t speak to a manager. Also the receptionist were very disrespectful first ignoring us and than making jokes about us with other guests as we left. At this poo t we just had enogh and sent an mail to the magner telling them we just wanted to enjoy the rest of our vacation not moving around any more but that we wanted some sort of compensation. We got a reply telling us they now had a room near the kids room but we were given no compensation. Also, the reason we couldnt have a room on the same floor the first time was that more rooms on the same floor also had black mold in them…. That didn’t seem to stop them from puttning other guests in the room we left and other on the same floor….

Recently stayed here for a few nights on a sight seeing trip to Berlin. I cannot fault this hotel. The location is fantastic, very close to public transport, and even walking distance to some of the places you’d want to see. My room was spotlessly clean & extremely comfortable and well appointed. Staff were helpful & polite. An absolute gem of a hotel, in central Berlin. Highly recommended.

The hotel is very convenient for the trams, trains, restaurants, bars and shops and the area is quiet. The hotel and rooms were very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and we used the hotel bar a couple of times too which was also very good Our premium room felt a bit on the small side especially the bathroom We arrived on a very hot day but when we turned the air-conditioning on it tripped the electric for the room. The staff kindly provided a fan and the windows could be opened. We tried it a couple of days later and the same thing happened so just used the fan after that and the weather cooled down so not a big issue. Overall a pleasant stay and would book again but maybe book a bigger room
