Sensira Resort & Spa Riviera Maya

Location: Waaayy off the beaten path, kind of halfway between Cancun & Playa del Carmen... if you don't plan on leaving the resort you're gold. Some tours will pick you up there, but for others you need to get yourself to a meeting place in town. The biggest issue is that the road into the resort is only partly paved, and giant potholes abound -- bring Dramamine if you have a weak stomach. Room: just like the pictures! Huge (we had a "Ruby Suite" with a private sun deck) and supplies every amenity one could think of, including a mini shaving kit and toothbrushes. Bed was comfortable -- ask for the pillow menu if it is available, as the original ones provided were not the best for us. Butler service: It was our first time having the VIP experience and we were not disappointed... our team of Humberto, Joao and Rafael were fantastic! They checked in every morning and afternoon, and responded to our every request quickly and efficiently. To Do: The resort has so many amenities for families with children -- pool play area (slides, other apparatus), climbing wall, zip line, mini golf... indoors, a foam/ball pit, air hockey and foosball tables, game consoles, and a theatre for rainy days. For grown ups there are several lounges, a well-appointed gym area, and there are pool tables in the gaming console area. Food: Excellent quality for the most part. The buffet restaurant had something for everyone, although as we were there during low season it was only open for breakfast and lunch. Also only 2 of the à la carte restaurants were open for dinner during our stay, so we ordered room service instead a few times. Service: Everyone is friendly and as helpful as possible, although most of the service staff don't have very much English -- we got by, using Google Translate saved us more than once. Overall: Recommend for families with young children. We would return, although maybe not during the rainy season again.

We went in May 2025 and had a mostly great experience. The room was very clean and nice and had a really great view of the resort pools and the ocean. The only problem was that the showers are sort of see through and they are not behind a closed door so its hard to shower when you have family in the room. The buffet for breakfast and lunch has a large variety and they try to change some items daily. For dining, they have a few options. The italian restaurant is amazing - the food tastes amazingly good and the staff of the restaurant, especially Carlos, is a really nice funny guy who makes sure you are satisfied with the food/service. The Mexican restaurant is closed for a large part of the week and we were almost going to miss on experiencing the food but one of the hotel staff, Daniel, went out of his way to arrage for the chef to cook the food specially for us. Daniel also kept checking up on us for the remaining trip ensuring to involve us in events and is an amazing member of the staff. There are many things to do for the kids. They had activities such as water exercises, different games for kids on a daily basis and all the staff involved - Samuel, Samantha and Daniel were very energetic and involved with the activities. They also had shows at night but they mostly started at 9 pm which was late for kids. The pools are pretty good, they have a few pools one of them catered towards kids with kids slides etc. The one by the poolside bar had a really good vibe with good music playing. One thing I didn't like though was that the music and bar area died down by early evening so things got pretty quiet around that time. Overall our experience was really good.

I went to celebrate my friends bachelorette and this was easily 5 of the best days, not only because I was with friends but because of the overall experience at the resort. Angel, one of the staff members also played a huge role making sure we always needed anything we needed!

Andres, Samantha, josher were amazing at the zipline, helped my kids feel comfortable. My kids loved the kids club. Downside is a ridiculous policy about room changes. We saw a room with bunk beds was available at a cheaper rate than what we already paid. They wouldn't move us without making a whole new reservation and paying double. Also not a fan of the loud music by the pool. I don't mind a bit of background noise, but nightclub volume at 10am seems a bit excessive. A lot of the facilities were down during our visit as well - rock climbing wall, kids pool/waterslides, trampoline park.

Came for a beautiful destination wedding and met some wonderful staff. Ruperto in the Amber lounge was the most humbling service provider. His cultural humility and depth of knowledge made for one of the most enriching conversations I've had — both enlightening and humbling. He also made a fantastic mojito and provided great snacks. He made the 4 day stay worth it all.
