Dobry hotel
2023-09-05

Shocking shocking shocking I really felt for the staff - who may I say even though not enough were amazing, however management ..cowards, irresponsible, lack of empathy and didn't even assist their teams when the whole hotel was complaining. Water was seeping through ceilings, no air con - in a heatwave, taking money for upgraded rooms that were worse than original. Promised money would be returned - still waiting! You had your chance Zero and now I have to write a review- it was meant to be a lovely break with an old friend following the all clear from cancer, it has turned out to be a complete nightmare

So some positives of the hotel. The staff were helpful for most of the time. We arrived at midday and we were allowed to use the pool etc. The rooms are clean and we only stayed 3 nights so we could overlook a lot, for the price of the hotel we were not expecting anything amazing. Hotel has a great location for Porto Cristo and exploring nearby areas. Now the negatives. No air con the whole time we were there and they were not making any attempts to fix this. It was 32 degrees and everyone was sleeping with their balcony door open. We were only on the 2nd floor and we did not feel safe sleeping with the door wide open. The hotel needs some serious work, the toilets by reception one wouldn’t lock and the other wouldn’t shut! When we were checking out at 4am the lift wasn’t working and we had to carry our 20kg suitcase down the stairs, luckily my other half was able to do this. Then on check out we were told we had to pay €10 for the drinks we had ordered at the bar 9:00pm the night we arrived, we were in bed by this time and they had no proof of what we bought or who! This unfortunately pushed us over the line, I’m waiting to hear back from the hotel manager as we won’t pay someone else’s bar tab! We were in room 203.

The hotel seemed to follow my DIY rules of 'that'll do' to every room almost. Try and go in the pool? Shower closed. Try go to the toilets by the pool? Urinal broke. Toilet door broke. Flusher sticking an inch of out of the hole it's meant to sit flush into. If the tiling is at 0 degrees the door frame is at 10 and filled in with grout. Try to slide the left side of your balcony door shut you commit an act of war against the right side and it opens by only about 5mm but choices have you be made. The staff were lovely and about the only friend we made on the trip was Johan at the bar so was rather disappointed not to say thanks and goodbye to him. I found the breakfast to be lovely an plenty of options. Was a bit put off by a massive fly that wouldn't fly off the stack of croissants that were in the basket. Hotel was clean it was more the renovations that just seem to have been badly made. The major issue we had was the air conditioning that went off about 3 days short of us finishing our stay. But the sign seemed to be a rolling 48 hours The night time was lacking any atmosphere and when there was a singer on what looked like management told her to quieten down which didn't seem to help anything. Overall it wasn't ideal but didn't ruin our stay it could have been a lot worse.

Currently sat at the airport with my daughter, we agree will the previous reviewer on all points made. The biggest problem was no aircon. When we arrived on 13th Sept there were signs up saying the chiller had been damaged by the storms and it would be fixed in 48 hours, the next day they said it would be today or at the very latest tomorrow..we’re now on 18th and still not fixed. We asked for a fan 3 times, were promised one which never materialised. It’s far too hot and humid to sleep, and we have been bitten by having to keep the patio doors open which provided a tiny bit of relief! Had we have been staying longer (a week) I’d have looked into being moved. Not a relaxing holiday when you’ve had no sleep for 5 consecutive nights and are full of bites. The staff at the hotel are lovely, they seem embarrassed that they are having to say the same ‘lie’ to everyone. This could be a brilliant hotel if they just got the basic things right! On the positive lovely Balinese beds and roof top pool (needs retiling) and the breakfasts were good. Great location and not too big. Porto Cristo is a lovely quiet resort. Ps Don’t book with EasyJet - dropped off at the wrong hotel and had to make our way to ours! You won’t see them at all!

Hotel - It is supposed to be a 4 star, but its more a 2/3. Its clean but literally everything is broken everywhere you go. It needs a lot of maintenance & upkeep. Location - Location is Great. A 5/10 mins walk to the Marina where all the restaurants and cafes are. There is about 7 restaurants along the marina, very nice food. Then walk around the corner another 5 mins and you are at the shops/beach & Cafes. Porto Cristo is a quiet place, so if you want to relax and chill it is perfect for you. (but different hotel unless it has a complete makeover) If you want to party I would suggest somewhere else as there is no clubs and the restaurants close around 11pm Rooms - Aircon was horrendous! It worked for 3 days, then it stopped working throughout the hotel. Ana (who is very nice) said it was due to a storm, which is rubbish because most of the reviews are about how bad the aircon is. They said it would be fixed after 48 hours. That was a lie. It broke for the remainder of our trip Reception were lovely and give us a fan and it was not there fault, but still, it was 29 degrees and 90% humidity. We know its not July/Aug time, but still 29 degrees is very hot for us brits! We stayed in a superior mountain view room. It was tiny! I would not like to think how small the standard rooms are. Pool - The pool was a good size, ladders were broken and felt like it was going to snap. The pool water is very salty like sea water, and the Majorty of beds are on sand, so it feels like you are at the beach and not around the pool. For me personally I hate wet sand sticking to you and there was nowhere to wash your feet/legs. The outside shower was quite far away and it was broken. Restaurant - We only had B&B. The breakfast is nice, quite repetitive but a lot of choice. If you wanted to dine for tea it was €20pp per night. Staff - The Staff were the best part of the hotel. They were very friendly and polite. But big shout out to Johan (who looked liked a young Will Smith ladies)- he was lovely & very friendly! he made our stay more relaxed and enjoyable Would I return? - Not likely, unless they had a total makeover and made it a 4 star as its listed The maintenance looked looked like it has been done by a dodgy handyman ( Broken tiles, broken sockets in rooms, and needed a lot decorating!
