This was our third year at the Zafiro Andratx Hotel, and as always, we booked a clubroom. For us, the club option has become essential – I don’t think we’d ever stay here without it. In the last two years, Block 7 (the room with the pool) has been part of the club section, whereas the year before it wasn’t. The difference the club makes is huge, especially now that the non-club areas feel noticeably busier. What really defines the experience here is the staff. Historic team members are the ones who make this place special – the people who recognise you and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. For example, Marti at the front of house is absolutely top-notch: professional, attentive, and one of the people who truly carry the Zafiro brand. Shota also deserves a special mention – he is easily the best and most attentive individual at Veranda and, frankly, should be running it in the evenings, as the current service there often feels disorganised. Sebastian at Caliu was excellent, as was the sommelier, and it was great to see Nacar and the Club Truck team performing brilliantly – in fact, better than ever. I also want to mention Alessandro at reception, who was fantastic to deal with and a huge help when I booked a trip here for my mother – his professionalism really stood out. On the concierge side, last year we had Julie and Maria, who were outstanding (though oddly my review never got published). This year, we’ve had Laura. She is clearly friendly, hardworking, and genuinely trying to make every guest’s experience smooth. While she is still newer and less experienced than her predecessors, she has been proactive in helping resolve issues such as booking and room allocation problems, and her attitude makes a real difference. I can see her growing into the role really well over time. That said, there are some concerns. Staff in general seem overworked and stressed, and it shows – from hearing smashed plates and glasses almost every dinner service, to the breakfast rush where simply getting a coffee has become more difficult than it used to be. I feel sorry for the newer team members, as high turnover seems to be affecting consistency. Housekeeping, for example, is always excellent when it happens, but very unpredictable in timing. On arrival this year, despite making requests as returning customers, we were given a room with a very poor view in a noisier section with poor view, which was disappointing. Laura did resolve it. The hotel is busy with loud, boisterous families in some areas, though we know the layout well enough to find quieter spots. Once settled, however, the first evening was still a delight thanks to seeing familiar faces like Shota and Marti. The Club Truck service deserves real credit – spot on, and even better than before. The lifeguards are also outstanding; I witnessed them carry out a rescue one morning, and as a parent of two children I cannot stress enough how attentive and professional they are. Food and drink were mixed this year. At Caliu, dinner was outstanding – actually better than in previous years. But at Taste and Sushi, service was very slow, and the quality compared with previous years has dropped (our photos from past visits show a clear difference). Room service, meanwhile, was consistently poor in quality compared with the restaurants – after trying it twice for lazy lunches, I’d recommend avoiding it altogether. That said, the staff delivering it were always brilliant. The “club check-in” remains something of a gimmick – you sit on a sofa with a glass of cava not champagne, but it’s essentially the same process as at the desk. Restaurant reservations, too, require persistence, despite the supposed priority for club guests. Still, the clubroom experience overall is excellent and I would love to see it expanded and made even more exclusive, as this would play to the strengths of the property and its setting in Andratx. In terms of the bigger picture, Zafiro will have to work harder to keep up with the likes of the Mandarin Oriental (we had a superb trip to Sóller recently, and the new Four Seasons is spectacular). That said, of all the Zafiro properties, Andratx remains the best in our view. Overall, I’m giving it 5/5, though this year it just about stretches to earn that rating, whereas in previous years it was an easy five. The familiar faces and historic staff – Marti, Shota, Sebastian, Nacar, Alessandro, the sommelier at Caliu, and others – are the real reason this hotel shines. I hope management retains and supports them, because they are the heart of the Zafiro Andratx experience. Would we return for a fourth year? Possibly, but with the Mandarin Oriental coming and the four seasons up and running , the competition will be very strong. Still, for families, for the clubroom, and for pure relaxation, this hotel continues to deliver something special

We moved here from the sister hotel in Palma Nova as the area of Palma Nova was not for us, it was well worth the move. The lady on reception whose name I can't remember organised our room and showed us around the hotel, she was so helpful and checked in on us all holiday. The staff at this hotel are what make the place so amazing from the cleaners, bar staff, reception, management everyone goes out of their way to deliver the best service, they all seem to genuinely want you to have the best time. Always sunbeds available so no sun bed wars! We upgraded to a suite with a private pool and seaview which was absolutely stunning (room 4005) we also upgraded to AI as it was better value, the A la carte restaurants were all lovely as was the buffet, the quality and choice was the best we have experienced and again the service faultless. Camp De Mar is literally a 5 minute walk away and beautiful and Port D'Andratx a 10 euro cab journey and well worth the visit, stunning port with lots of bars and restaurants. The concierge at the hotel was brilliant and recommended places to go and made all our reservations for us. We will 100% return to this hotel and can't recommend it enough, only negative was having to go home!

Modern, clean, friendly staff, loads of sun beds, excellent breakfast. Our plunge pool room was lovely. Only things I would say is it’s a big hotel and took us 5 mins every morning to walk to the restaurant, and it would be good to have some Adults only bedroom blocks so not subjected to screaming children!!
