My wife and I stayed here towards the end of April for 3 nights and can highly recommend it. What a little gem of a hotel. Really bright and modern and fastidiously clean, I mean spotless everywhere. It’s clearly had a lot of money spent on it and has been upgraded and modernised throughout. The pool area has been completely renovated and is beautiful with sun pretty much all day on several sides. Pool water was too cold in April for me but there were some guests braving it. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and always happy to help. The bar area, reception area and outside terrace with tables and chairs was modern and had plenty of pretty seating areas. Guest rooms were excellent, again very modern and surprisingly spacious. You could tell they had been updated but not completely renovated, just part renovated as there are still some remnants of its former life, but enough has been done to the rooms and bathrooms to make them very comfortable and modern and we certainly had zero complaints. The twin beds pushed together were comfortable and our pool view from the 3rd floor was perfect. Perhaps the only criticism would be the air conditioning wasn't great. The daytime weather was a sunny 23 degrees so the air con kept us just about cool enough during the night. However it would have been better if the controls allowed the setting to be a little cooler. Before we went, I saw some grumbles online from some older reviews regarding noise but we didn't experience any noise at all during our stay and the hotel was almost full. Other guests were mainly couples of all ages and small families who were respectful and not rowdy. We couldn't hear our neighbours at all unless they were out on their balcony, and there was only very little noise later on in the evening from lively bars and restaurants nearby. The location is literally one row back from the main street so you are right in the centre of town and the beach is less than 5 minute walk - a perfect spot to stay. I think Paguera is predominantly a German holiday resort but there were still plenty of other nationalities there. I felt it was a great mix of people from all over Europe and even heard several other British accents. Most bars and restaurants we went into spoke first to us in German but as soon as we responded in English, they quickly switched to English with no issues at all. Due to landing a great deal, we booked directly with the hotel on their own website and got a free late checkout too. We chose to stay on a half board basis where we genuinely enjoyed the food. It may not have been amazing but it was always hot, fresh, plentiful and tasty. There were several hot and cold choices at the buffet for both breakfast and dinner and we were really happy with that. I'm sure some fussy eaters may struggle but we tried everything and it was honestly all pretty decent. The price we paid was excellent and the hotel was exactly what we wanted. Very good value for money in a small and friendly hotel. Book it, you cant go wrong here.

That was a very disappointing stay. The room was too small and very shabby, with old and dusty furniture. Food isn't good either - dinners are ok, breakfasts are just terrible. There're bugs in cornflakes! There're no minibars in the rooms - it was really irritating, when it's +40C outside. You'll have to put your bottles with water just on the air-conditioner to get it cold. Smart :-), but a minibar is a must, I think. It was actually the first time in my life, when on travelling to a southern country I stayed in the room without a minibar in, There's no TV in the rooms either - well, there's a TV-set, but you'll have to pay extra, if you want to watch the only 3 german channels, that they have. ))) You don't go to Spain to watch TV in the room, it's clear. But if you had a chanse to have a look at it just for a short while before you go to bed, so it could be much better. There're a lot, A LOT of rules to follow in this hotel. And nobody bothers to explain them to you on your arrival - the only paper you can find in your room - also old and wrinkled - in in German. So, be careful, if you take a wromg table at breakfast or a wrong plate :-) - they'll come up to you and try to explain something, that you shouldn't have done this, and that, and that. They 're hard to understand - their English is just very poor. Having talked to some Germans, i got said, that their german wasn't better. :-) so, learn some perfect Spanish, if you expect some good service at this hotel. :-) But all of that is not the worst.! :-) The worst is that it's ALWAYS VERY noisy, both inside and outside the hotel. It's impossible to relax and very hard to sleep. You can hear all your neighbours around and can easily follow, what they 're talking about. The same with the noise from the streets - a music til 2 a.m. seems to be playing just on your balcony. The staff never asks you, if you like their or not - they don't care. The only thing the manager can ask you - when you are going to pay. :-) Omg, it happened to me for the first time in my life, too. .-) You normally pay when you check out - here i was asked to pay the day before. Unforgettable. So, if you want to have a good rest and service, just find another hotel. i'll never return and never recommend this one to anyone.

We stayed in a double room, which was ok and clean. But: Every night you could hear a band play from bar which was very close. They stopped at 12pm. Then you could hear music from a nearby club where the door opened and closed. The breakfast was ok, but dinner wasn't if you are a vegetarian. Nevertheless the staff was friendly ...
