Polecam.

Oh dear AVOID if not on a hen/stag party! Sorry British Airways this should not be advertised as a luxurious hotel in a wonderful location. It’s in a very non descript area outside the very not so beautiful San Antonio. Firstly we arrived in our car and were told if we wanted to park it would cost us 15 euros a day. Secondly the hotel reception team were rude especially the girl that served us. Our friends were put in the wrong room and were given someone else’s honeymoon cake. They didn’t have a sea view. Rooms are ok quite well appointed but picture being on a massive cruise liner with a bunch of twenty something chavs on a stag/hen and then that is your hotel. The bar stops serving drinks in glasses around 11pm as it gets so loud. You are then switched over to plastic cups. Middle aged people genuinely looked shell shocked at having booked the hotel. The pools have areas cordoned off for signature level and these are all empty. It’s like a two tier hotel. The food was ok but it is so busy you feel like you’re at Paddington station trying to get your breakfast. We went on our balcony to avoid the loud bar and couldn’t stay on our balcony for long as we were entertained by some guests nearby on their balcony partaking in “when Harry met sally” noises. There is noise and crowds of people everywhere and most importantly there are huge stag/hen parties of very loud people screaming and shouting at the bar. Its awful, please avoid unless you are on a stag/hen.

We stayed in the hotel and had a signature all inclusive package. The signature package was meant to have a lot of extra perks from the standard all inclusive but overall that package did disappoint us. Pros: - Access to restaurants which offered a set menu outside of the hotel, we tried two of them and they were decent. It's nice to have the option to leave the hotel and try out new restaurants which were scattered around the island. This package also granted us access to events such as Ushuaia and Hi on certain days. - The snack bar served really tasty food. - Great butler service, Roman was super helpful. - The hotel decor is very aesthetic and the hotel felt clean. - Access to the spa for 1.5hr a day free of charge. - Staff was very friendly. Cons: - They will charge you 15 euro for parking everyday, despite the holiday booking websites stating that it is free. - The location of the hotel is quite far out. You can technically walk to San Antonio town but it would be a long walk (by car it's about a 7-10 minute drive). - The hotel staff were not diligent with checking wristbands, we often found that areas which were supposed to be only available for the signature all inclusive were occupied with people who did not have access to those. - The hotel bars closed at 11pm which we felt was super early for an all inclusive hotel. - The a la carte restaurants were bad. (1) Gaucho (steakhouse): The starters and desserts were genuinely nice and tasty, the main on the other hand lacked flavour and the quality of the steak was very bad. (2) Helios (Mediterranean): The portions were tiny and you are only allowed to pick one starter, main and dessert. As a table of 4, we all picked different dishes and none of them was genuinely nice. Food lacked flavour and took about 45 minutes to come despite the restaurant being empty. The buffet, though it was small, served better dishes than the a la carte restaurants. - The "signature drinks" were very disappointing. We often times had to send drinks back because they did not taste great and were definitely not made with branded alcohol. The hotel seemed to be understaffed so drinks would typically be very rushed. If you pay attention to the small touches like which glass the drink is served then you'd be pretty annoyed here - with wine being served in a whiskey glass or an espresso martini being served in a prosecco glass. Yes, they're small things but you'd expect a higher level of service with the signature package. - The "filtered" water on site was AWEFUL, like genuinely not drinkable. It smelt mouldy. They would provide 4 small cans of water in the room everyday but you had to pay extra if you wanted any extras. - If you opt for the signature package, please note that the deluxe rooms are extremely small (you will struggle to open two suitcases in the room). there was no space to walk in the room with only two people in there. Overall, we still enjoyed the holiday but i don't think that the signature package is worth it. The hotel should up its standard and improve the quality of its food and drinks.
