Polecamy hotel.

First of all I would like to compliment the staff at this hotel, we were greeted by lovely smiling reception staff on arrival, the bar and waiting staff always smiling and chatty and the cleaners always acknowledging us with a friendly hello. They all work incredibly long hours and work hard to keep the hotel sparkling clean and welcoming. Maybe we picked the wrong hotel for us as it is incredibly boring!! No atmosphere around the pool area (we had a swim up room which was a godsend…room 104, fabulous). The constant elevator music drove us crazy, and felt like Christmas with Michael Buble playing in the background… you can go to the Admiral in the evening for the entertainment which was very different… we saw 3 great singers who gave it their all but had a tough crowd, the Greek Night was so bad we walked out!! And don’t get me started on Michael Jackson!!! As for the food…it’s pretty dreadful with no real Greek meals…pretty much what I cook every night at home for the family… macaroni, shepherds pie, roast turkey and mash, bolognaise etc…not what I want to eat on a Greek holiday!! We were all inclusive but ate out a few times as we couldn’t face another run of the buffet… the drinks were however quite good, especially in the evenings, but the all inclusive ends at 11pm which is too early!! Drinks are then chargeable for however long people want to stay out. It’s actually put us off going all inclusive in the future… to recap - if you like a really quiet hotel with mediocre food then this is for you, perhaps we picked wrong!

This was not our first holiday in Greece, nor will it be our last—but we will not return to this hotel. Despite requesting a quiet room, we were placed in one opposite the busiest area of the hotel. The room itself lacked basic amenities: no ventilation, no hangers in the bathroom, and a poorly designed sink awkwardly placed in the bedroom with a tiny mirror above it. The floor was dangerously slippery. The food was another major letdown. We ended up eating out most days because the hotel meals were simply inedible—undercooked potatoes, chewy meat, and a very limited selection. Breakfast had no fresh bread, and the desserts appeared to be leftovers from previous days. I didn’t touch them for six days. While the bar and reception staff were lovely and professional, the same cannot be said for most of the dining room staff, except for two friendly and welcoming ladies. One particularly upsetting incident involved my son: he stepped away briefly to get juice, only to find his untouched breakfast had been cleared. To make matters worse, a staff member laughed about it with a colleague as my son stood there. On another occasion, I went with my daughter to sit and have a coffee just before lunch. We were told—rather rudely—that it was 12:59 and lunch starts at 13:00, so we had to wait outside. No greeting, no thank you, no courtesy at all. Overall, I found the attitude and service, from the restaurant staff, to be unacceptable—particularly considering the price we paid. If you're a couple looking for a simple bed and breakfast, this hotel might suit you. But for families, I would not recommend it.
