Cavo Suites

Very comfortable swim up room. The hotel was very quiet as it was the end of season. Breakfast was good with choice. Pool bar did snacks and food during the day if you needed that. If the hotel had been busy I think the room would be very overlooked - not great.

Would recommend Cavo Suites as a place to stay. I'm not sure why it's received bad reviews - we loved it. Having a swim-up suite is a game changer. Lovely and private and modern looking - if you're looking for a noisy hotel, this won't be for you. The pool is amazing and clean - perfect to cool off and swim. Rooms have aircon, safe, fridge, teamaking facilities, robes, hairdryer, and shampoo toiletries. It's a bit odd not being able to flush paper down the toilet, but this seems the norm on the island. Tip is to buy baby wipes...bins and room cleaned daily. Breakfast offers everything you could want from hot food to cold food. Pool bar is open during the day and provides food and drink. A couple of things that caught us out; tourist tax is only accepted in cash! So, have enough to cover €7 per day (2024) when you check in. Also, bring a printed paper copy of your booking for their files (i managed to email it to them, and they printed it, but it could have been made clearer when booking).

Cavo suites Just for context I was a Solo female traveller, first time in Kalamaki. I booked a year ago and decided to pay the extra for a "swim up room" and I am SO glad I did. It was perfect for me, loved the fact I didn't have to pack up a bag and go to the pool, just open the door and I was there. The freedom to go back inside for things was ideal. Hotel / hotel grounds: Well maintained. Modern and very nice. Always staff around cleaning etc be aware at check in I paid €7 euro a day, €49 in total for "climate crisis resilience fee" which is cash only so be aware of this. Quiet and child free which is exactly what I wanted. The room: Swim up ground floor room. Modern and sleek, it's not a 5 star hotel and I didn't expect it to be but reading some of the previous reviews I think they're very harsh. My room had a few small bits of peeling paint on the wall (maybe size of a £2 coin), the sunbed cushions were water stained but I just put my towels over them, stains (guessing from sun cream) on the painted surfaces in the room which probably common for towards the end of the season - id class it as a bit of wear and tear. None of this bothered me or made me think any less of the hotel, what I paid was brilliant for what I got (in my opinion). Bed was on the hard side - suited me 2 huge wardrobes to hang / store clothes Safe in wardrobe (no extra charge) Under counter style fridge Fixed hairdryer next to mirror which overheats and cuts out but does the job Location: 5 minute walk up to the strip - ideal. Area is quiet and just want I wanted. Staff: Every staff member I encountered were very pleasant and friendly. Food: Breakfast was decent, always something to have and a variety of different items. Food from the bar menu was a little high on the price side for me but I did try a few things - the club sandwich & kebab which both were delicious. If you're chilling and don't want to venture out it's great and they'll bring it to your terrace/room if requested. Minor improvements: * full length mirror in room * Deadlock on the inside of the doors * QR code on menu so food can be ordered and delivered to your room/terrace without having to go to the bar to order * Rail on the terrace to dry swimwear / towels In conclusion I loved it and probably will book soon for next year.
