Minos Imperial Luxury Beach Resort and Spa Milatos

Very disappointing. Room was nice. Staff were friendly and tried very hard. Management and receptionists were not and were constantly arguing with each other, the staff and the customers. The food was awful. Poorly cooked with little variation. The process to book a la carte resturants was long winded. Food not much better there but you were waited on in some of them so less queuing involved. I had to ask for water (which was always warm), tea / coffee etc, towels, pool towels, and toilet paper in the room each day. I think the worst part of the holiday was listening to holiday makers arguing and getting upset because of the management's attitude. Some people were crying. I have never seen behaviour like it from so called professionals. When we complained about the food we were told to tell the chef how to cook it. Nothing says 5 star like plastic bowls and cups, and wooden cutlery! (In the dining rooms that is - not by the pool.) We had to hunt for cups, plates, etc at each meal. The food was mostly cold, even when it had just been brought out of the kitchen. Breakfast ham, cheese and fruit was dried out. Everything was soiled and broken. The cups around the pools were the flimsiest plastic imaginable. This was the worst holiday I have ever been on. (I notice the good reviews from Radisson Blu days have been taken down now. Good - they gave the wrong impression.)

An overall very pleasant hotel, the staff,especially Anna were fantastic,food,amenities were excellent. The enclosed beaches, the pools and bars were always kept immaculate. The cleaning staff were in every morning to clean up and were very friendly

The hotel and stuff they're all very very friendly, kind, very welcoming, me and my friends we felt very relaxed and comfortable. The food was amazing, we had variety of food choices. The best part of the holiday was at the bar, staff Manos, Michael and Giorgos were the best, I can recommend them all the time, especially GIORGOS he went an extra mile to make us very comfortable whenever we got to the bar, he was very very polite, a well mannered young man, he is the best. Jason and his friend were very very good, we danced all night with them, we felt like we knew them before, when it came to entertainment, JASON was the best, we will never forget him. All in all we had the best holiday ever, we highly recommend this amazing Minos imperial luxury hotel and spar. We will come again for sure.

This hotel is a fallen giant! It is advertised on all UK holiday companies, and markets itself as a 5*, it is at best a 3.5* hotel. I booked with optimism from the online pictures and description, to meet up with family for 1 weeks all inclusive break, early in May 2025. I arrived at 1130pm, with around 20 other guests. I was surprised to see 1 person on the front desk, so check-in took more than 30 minutes. There was no food prepared, i'm used to being offered a dried out cheese sandwich and an apple, but not even that was prepared.......maybe a sign of the breakfast experience to come in the morning! I went to breakfast at 930am, this is a large hotel, and it was early season so by no means full, but it felt like things were made deliberately awkward for guests. I'll summarise, the shortcomings as there were lots of them, all the portions provided at the buffet hot and cold stations were small, so they were always running out. There were often no bowls, for yoghurt or fruit, if indeed they hadn't run out too. You got your table of choice and there were knifes and forks, but no spoons on the table. Nor were there any spoons to be found anywhere on the buffet stations, i had to ask for a spoon 5 mornings. You had to que for drinks, be it coffee or tea, the juice was a machine mixed cordial. There were no self service coffee machines and rarely any tea bags at the hot water station. When you were served tea after queuing at the bar, the milk was on the side, so you had to serve yourself. Lets move to lunch, all similar, only the tea and coffee option had gone, only cold drinks and alcoholic, again served only through queuing at the single bar. You could eat in 1 of the 4 themed restaurants, for 4 times in a week. the process to book this was deliberately painful, again a long queue and wait to make reservations with one person at a computer, and you could only make these reservations at 3pm each day..... why no app or more !? Pool side drinks were only available from the pool bar, you had to walk up and queue, no table service or empty cup collection. All drinks were served in paper cups, these were sometimes seen floating in the pool, often blowing around the floor. Water was for the first few days give in cooled sealed bottles from the bar, but after a few days this was stopped by management and we were directed to the chilled water bottle dispenser, this water was foul and tasted un-natural, remember this is 5*. The hotel is advertised as having mini bars in the rooms, this isn't the case, you have a fridge. It is stocked with 2 bottles of water, but getting those replaced takes a special effort! I called the front desk to ask for it to be restocked with water, along with English breakfast tea bags, only to be told this would be chargeable. An unbelievable and frustrating call of around 10 minutes took place with an awkward and defensive front desk person, for them to eventually concede that they would restock my room rations! The evening bar queue's were no better, you regularly had to queue 10-15 minutes or more to be served, there wasn't even table service in the evening. With 2 days to go the newly appointed guest liaison manager visited the restaurant to meet guests and get some feedback. All of the above was pointed out to the new manager lady, along with praise for the waiters and workers. they work hard and you can sense their embarrassment about the service the hotel is providing. The problem with this hotel is the management, they are invisible and when you do see them they're defensive. Overall this vacation fell massively short of my expectations and I obviously would not go back or recommend anyone to visit.

I had seen the pretty poor reviews for this resort but many refer to when Radisson Blu managed the resort. Then I looked at the more recent reviews when it has become Miltais Imperial. Still sounded a bit worrying. Don't think that this is a 5* resort on the level of London, Paris, Dubai, etc. BUT....you are not paying for that sort of holiday. A night or two in a Dubai hotel would be the cost of the entire holiday, including flights and parking. Some of the common areas, such as gezebos, need the wood repalcing, etc but it really isn't an issue, just 4 star in need of updating, not 5 star....But you are not paying true 5 star price. My friend & I were upgraded from a twin room to a wonderful family suite, with seperate living areas, the staff were so helpful, and some, really quite wonderful. If you wish to decompress, walk 15 minutes to a true Cretan village and its tavernas, acknowleging that you are away from a lot of "lively town life", then give Milatos Imperial a go. Meeting up with fellow guests, there ended up being a group of atround ten. We all felt the same about the resort. Don't expect Dubai 5 star but this is a wondeful plave, with vefy helpful & friendly staff. We, as a previously un-met group, enjoyed every day of our time at the resort.
