The Olivar Suites

The hotel is absolutely fantastic! What truly stands out is the amazing staff across all areas—from the friendly reception and spotless cleaning team to the welcoming bar staff and the Restaurant Team. Everyone goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect. And the food? Simply outstanding! Highly recommended.

We stayed at The Olivar Suites for our honeymoon and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay. We had a junior suite with private pool, it was modern, spacious, and immaculately kept. The private pool gave us a peaceful and luxurious place to relax. The room is very well equipped too. The hotel grounds are stunning, with direct access to the beach, where sun loungers were always available for us. The bar / snack service directly to the loungers was such a treat with amazing service. Fresh towels were always available at both the pool and beach. Breakfast was another highlight – a lovely mix of buffet options and à la carte menu, all included. We tried most options on the menu between us and all were delicious. Another big plus was the location. While the hotel felt quiet and secluded, it's just a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to a few fantastic local tavernas. We ate at Kostas, Dionysos, and Bacchus – all were excellent - really tasty food and friendly service - we’d highly recommend all three. Would recommend reserving a table in advance, especially in peak season - just pop along during the day to book a table for that evening. Overall, The Olivar Suites offered a perfect mix of luxury, comfort, and local charm. It made our honeymoon unforgettable – we'll definitely be returning. We researched lots of different places and stays before booking our stay and if you're in a similar position then our only recommendation would be to book it - you definitely won't regret it!

Just back from another great stay at Olivar Suites. This is 2nd stay in 2 years and won't be our last. We stayed in a majestic suite with private pool as we like the close proximity to the back, restaurant and nearby tavernas. The road noise can be a little loud at times but didn't bother us in the slightest. Breakfast is a buffet with a great selection of items to choose from. Had cocktails in the beach bar which I highly recommend - what a lovely setting! Really enjoyed swimming in the sea, were prepared with sea shoes this year as a little bit stoney to get in and out, but is fine without too. Lots of beach lounges but did notice that some people were reserving early on and not using them straight away. Didn't eat in the restaurant as it's quite pricey and there are a big choice of lovely tavernas just outside the hotel. Really recommend getting an ice cream from the bakery! All in all a lovely stay at a lovely hotel. Book it - you won't be disappointed.

We have recently returned from our 4th stay at the Olivar Suites so you can probably tell we do love this hotel. After 4 stays I think I am in a good position to write an honest balanced review. Warning....it's a long one! We have stayed at the Olivar for 10 days every June since 2022. We have seen a significant price increase evey year but nothing at the hotel has changes to justify this. I appreciate inflation etc but the same from has jumped from approx. £3k to £5k in that time. We have stayed in three different room types, the Executive Suite, Premier Suite and this year we booked the slightly cheaper Junior Suite with private pool. I was a little apprehensive that I wouldn't be as happy in the Junior Suite but it was absolutely fine for a couple. Still much bigger than rooms at other hotels. My only issue with the rooms is no door on the bathroom. I love my other other half dearly but there are some things I don't want to see or hear! The hotels overall aesthetic is fabulous and the gardens are beautiful. The rooms and grounds are well maintained and the house keeping staff are wonderful and do a great job. The breakfast buffet is decent but pretty much the same every day. You are also given an a la carte menu to choose from but this has not changed in the last 4 years with the exception of two new dishes being added this year. It can get a bit repetitive after a few days. We have eaten dinner at the restaurant. It's nice but don't we feel like its great value for money. We much prefer to eat at the local tavernas. The beach bar is a lovely location for an evening drink but again the prices are very high even for a 5* hotel. Overall the staff at the hotel are great and any issues reported are dealt with swiftly. Last year we had no hot water in one of the bathrooms (wasn't a big deal as the room had two) and the team were quick to fix even though they had to cut quite a large hole in the wall to reach the plumbing. As we were not able to use our room that day we were compensated with lunch and drinks at the beach bar. This year we had a particularly hard squeaky bed and the next day we were given a mattress toper and the screws on the frame were tightened. The Spa is good and averagely prices, I have had 3 treatments there. The gym is small and can only fit a couple of people at a time. A big plus is the direct beach access. The beach is not private as some guests seem to expect. This is not allowed by law in Corfu. The hotel does have a large number of loungers and umbrella and it's not usually difficult to get one. However this year we did notice that there were a number of guests putting the towels out first thing to reserve then disappearing. Shouldn't be allowed and we were told this was monitored. There are lots of restaurants and bars in the surrounding area. We have eaten at most of them and love them all. Now for the reason we may not return to the Olivar, and this is only personal preference......Children! We are a couple in our 40s with no kids so when we go away we don't want to be surrounded by other peoples. We have noticed over the years more children at the hotel especially babies and toddlers since we do travel outside of the normal school holiday period. Now we appreciate it is not an adults only hotel but it does try to promote itself as a calm, quiet tranquil place to escape to and isn't really designed with children in mind. There are no children's facilities like a kids pool etc so the main pool becomes one with a lot of noise from kids jumping in and screaming etc. I understand kids make noise but this cancels out the so called serene environment that many adults were hoping for. Using our own private garden and pool was only as relaxing as the neighbours allowed it to be. Hard to chill when next doors kids are bombing in the pool screaming! Maybe the hotel could consider having family rooms and adults only rooms separated . Breakfast could also be quite loud with kids running around poking at the buffet! If the hotel is going to be family friendly then they need to stop advertising peace and quiet. If you want a truly tranquil experience it may not be the place for you. For us it's the only element that let's the place down slightly. For the price we pay here for a pool room we could probably go adults only somewhere else. It would be such a shame not to return....maybe we will just pack good earplugs next time!

This was our second stay at The Olivar Suites – as in 2022, everything was of a high standard and we had a 5 star feeling from welcome to departure. The hotel offers wonderful facilities including a beach bar, restaurant or pool area which is suitable for kids. We appreciated the room upgrade which was spacious and beautiful – the private pool is a nice bonus to most rooms. The beach has plenty of sun beds and at any time of the day you can find a spot. The Olivar Suites is our happy place, almost like home. I believe we will return again.
