We stayed at Sunscape Dominicus La Romana April 3-13. We are home now & I thought I would give a shout out to some of the resort features & the staff members who were amazing. Honestly, with all of the negative reviews I was really worried about coming here. I have previously stayed at Secrets Cap Cana twice, which I knew there would be no comparison & I have stayed at Dreams Macao, Onyx, Dominicus & Flora. I wouid say this resort compares with Dreams Dominicus, which is just down the street/beach. We booked SunClub Adults Tropical Junior Suite & requested an upper floor. We were told at check-in that we were on the ground floor. We said “no” to that & I believe they would have moved us to an upper floor but we also asked if there were any upgrades available. In the end we upgraded to an ocean front room on the second floor. My goal was to see the sunrise from the room but soon learned that would not be possible due to the placement of the resort. I still enjoyed looking out at the adults only pool & the ocean each day. We loved our room!! The location was great, the bed was comfortable, the shower was amazing (I wouid like to have one like it at my home). Not all of the rooms in that category had the same type of shower head. Our room was 14247. Our room was cleaned well each day. Danilda was our housekeeper at the beginning & end of our stay & did an amazing job. I’m a lover of turn down service & having a clean room with fresh towels each night. We had amazing turndown service each night. We spent our time in the comfy chairs at the adults only pool. They should have more of the cushioned lounge chairs available at that pool. There was no chair game at this pool though & we had those chairs for our entire stay. We went down to the beach each afternoon for a swim & to float on our floaties in the waves. Yes there are rocks upon entry to the beach. There were fewer rocks at the adults only side of the beach, especially right by the rope. We wore water shoes which was a great help!! Believe me you need to bring them. We ate breakfast at Kaleidoscope buffet I think 8/10 days. We alternated lunch between Kaleidoscope & Windows. We found that it was best to arrive when the buffets opened in order to have the best selection. I had an omelet every morning & never had to wait long. I enjoyed the cakes they made with some ice cream & a banana on the side. We tried Tierra for breakfast one day & for lunch one day. I didn’t care for the breakfast choices. I enjoyed the salmon at lunchtime & my husband enjoyed the chicken. We forgot to try Tierra at supper time. We went to Tiki Taco twice. Ask for a passion fruit margarita when you go there. It was delicious 😋. We didn’t care for how the fajitas were made but I ate them the first time & they were ok. The Mexican food by the pool on Margarita Day was far better than the food at Tiki Taco. They should make their food in the same way. We went to Chopsticks three times. Twice for the dinner show & once for table service. We enjoyed it all 3 times. We went to Da Mario twice & loved it. The Margarita pizza from the kids menu is awesome!!! The buffet that they have for appetizers & dessert has enough food for your meal. There are different kinds of pizzas on the Buffett but when you order the Margarita pizza it comes out nice & hot. We also had pizza there for lunch when it’s the Kaleidoscope Buffet. The pizza was very good. We just waited until a hot one came out before getting a slice. We went to the pizza restaurant twice. Once for supper (it would be nice to have this open at lunchtime) & once for a late night snack. It was good but not as good as the pizza at Kaleidoscope or Da Mario. Coco Cafe is where we started our day & ended our day with cappuccino & ice cream. We went to two shows: the circus & rock show. We enjoyed both shows. My husband went to the magic show & liked it. I guess the Retro Show that happened one night in the plaza was good. I wish there was an explanation on the app of what these shows are so that we wouid know. If we had a description we may have stayed out to watch it. Also, we went to the White Party with the expectation of watching a fire show, that we were told happened the week before. We waited & waited & there was no fire show. Even our Butler, Alba told us there was always a fire show. That was disappointing. Many thanks goes out to Thalia Mesa, Alba (our butler), Santa, Ruth & Jennyfer at Coco Cafe, Danilda & our servers (see photos) at Kaleidoscope. We enjoyed our stay!!! I worried for nothing. If you are on the fence go to the resort & give it a try. Hopefully, you will be glad you did.

ROOMS we had a deluxe tropical view, room was huge, massive bed, wardrobe, bathroom etc. best thing was an fully stocked fridge with ICE COLD DRINKS , bottled Coke, Diet Coke, beers and waters, restocked daily, maid cleans daily, bring your Firestick if you have one. Our room had a balcony but due to the location we didn’t get any sun in it so was hard to dry swimwear etc. comfy bed, great pillows. Bathroom has Body wash and shampoo in big bottles. HOTEL GROUNDS Amazing grounds, clean and tidy, nice ponds and bridges, mango trees, star fruit trees, banana trees, you can literally pick them off. Resident Peacock, and a cat family that has the cutest 4 little kittens just a few weeks old. FACILITIES onsite are great, from spa, gym, activities, loads going on all the time for all ages, Bowls, beach volleyball, football and more. Everything is spaced out on property which is good. Although a family hotel there weren’t that many kids about We are from the UK and we only came across a few British, most of the guests are from Argentina , Venezuela etc Common language is Spanish, very little English spoken so there was a language barrier, but was ok. RESTAURANTS onsite are great lots of variety , you can download an app and it gives you all the info on the hotel, restaurants, menus etc. you can also make reservations especially for the Japanese one if you want to sit at the Teppanyaki table. Beach shack has good food too, there is a 24hr coffee shop that also has mini sandwiches and pastries. ENTERTAINMENT is good something on every night, they have a White Party on the beach so pack accordingly. MAIN POOL they have something going on all the time, for example Handing out Coconuts and adding rum if you want, pineapples with the juice inside. BBQ, water games, DJ, Live Singer there’s loads, but at the same time it’s still nice to chill out it’s not loud all day everyday. CHECK IN This was a good experience and quick, they tried to sell us the VIP area where it’s adults only, private restaurant, room service , beach are, which we didn’t take up. We ended up with a room close to the VIP area, the pool and beds were really nice however we found it too quiet no vibe, if you stay this side your missing out on the holiday atmosphere which I mention earlier by the main pool, I hardly saw anyone on this side. The hotel has its own tour company and we booked Saona island with them and they were amazing, everything included was great from the drinks to food and the whole vibe BEACH On the beach you can hire Kayaks, mini catamarans, pedalos ALL FOR FREE!!! The beach is clean and shallow and amazing colour, whilst we have been here the sea has been so calm it’s unreal hardly any waves luckily we are in the Caribbean Sea and not the other side. WEATHER It’s a tropical island yes there are thunder storms and rain but they pass it’s no big deal, I’m still burn and still have a dark tan. I actually like this as it’s cool and hot, sporadic sun so it’s not uncomfortable I think it’s spaced out well, we have been here 5 days so far and only got caught in a downpour once. It rains mostly in the evenings with the odd sprinkle in the day, yes there are dark clouds but they pass so this is the perfect opportunity toy to get something to eat or take a nap, or just stay where you are and embrace the tropical rain and dance ☺️ Defo would recommend

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was very clean from the rooms to the restaurants to the grounds. The restaurant service was superb. We had a young man, Rose, at Windows that was very attentive and knowledgeable about not only the restaurant but the grounds and local area Our bell boys, Luis, Josue, and Ramires were very kind and attentive as well. Took care of all our needs The Spa services we also very good. Beachside massage was great. Make up and nail salon also did not disappoint We had great bartenders at many different locations on the resort Thank you for the beautiful week
