Sentido Galomar

Fantastic stay at this hotel. The room was excellent (we booked a garden view) but were given a sea view with a large balcony which had 2 sunbeds. The room was very clean with a large bathroom, great rain shower. Towels changed daily. Fridge in the room. Beds were really comfortable. Booked B&B and the choice was excellent and well organised in terms of food stations spread out so only queues were at the drinks station. Lots of sunbeds and great to see none reserved. Lovely sheltered chairs too. Gym & Yoga studio. My husband used the gym regularly.

Positives: We were upgraded to a suite which had a sitting area and a super large bedroom. There was also a number of exercise equipment in the room plus a stationary bike, this was all a nice surprise. The bed was kingsize and very comfortable. The shower was walkin. The facilities (swimming pool and beach access at the sister hotel next door) were great. We had drinks a couple times at the hotel bar (next door) and lunch. All was good - reasonable prices given the location and the food/drinks were good, also friendly staff. Negatives: Parking is very limited. There is a parking garage but not sure who that is for. The coffee at the breakfast bar was probably some of the worse coffee I have had. It was powdered coffee that comes out of a machine, the smell alone was terrible. For such a nice place, I am sure they can afford a better coffee machine. The food also was quickly picked over if you come at a later time. The fruit selection was also not great. Overall the breakfast quality didn't match the hotel.

This was our second time staying at Sentido Hotels in Madeira. The first time we stayed at Sentido Galomar and now at Galosol which was equally amazing! The properties are very close by actually with a great location in Caniço, just a few minutes away from the main road which is super convenient to explore all the main spots around the island. The team was always very kind and helpful with anything we might need during our stay and we really enjoyed the stunning views from our room on the second floor facing the ocean with the “desertas islands” in the distance! The pool area is beautiful and they have a lot of lounge chairs to chill 😊 We will definitely keep returning to Madeira and we hope to stay at Sentido Hotels again in the future!

The location of the hotel is great if you appreciate a sea view and don't mind to be quite far from Funchal. The pool area is also nice although it was empty in the beginning of January (cold pool water and not optimal weather for sunbathing). There are good fitness facilities although the indoor pool area is not very inviting. Be aware that you need to book everything separately and well in advance (indoor pool, saunas, fitness classes, restaurant tables, spa...). Breakfast is very good. There is something for everyone. Restaurant Atlantis was also good. Unfortunately the spa was a bit of a disappointment: expensive, not very cozy interior design and the massage I had was just petting. The masseuse also seemed to be in a hurry which didn't improve the experience. Many good things but also many details missing from a five star experience.

Hotel was amazing! So many things to do and we always look forward to coming back after a very busy day. The staff, Teresa and Barbara (front of house) were amazing and very accommodating! I mean everyone in the front of house are amazing but these ladies were outstanding. Claudia (from Galo Fitness) for some reasons she was always in (not complaining at all) whenever we make a booking for the indoor pool and sauna and we love how she knows it’s us calling hahaha we love spending the rest of our evening in Capoeira bar where there is always live music and it’s next to the sea, it really is a perfect spot for downtime and just relax with a wide selection of drinks, from wines to cocktails. Will definitely be coming back to Sentido Hotels. We stayed Galosol so maybe we will try Galomar next! (ROOM 4610) ❤️
