Excellent emplacement dans Funchal, hôtel sympathique disposant d'un parking gratuit, jardin agréable, chambres un peu vieillottes dans la partie quinta où nous avons résidé mais suffisamment spacieuse. En demi pension restauration très correcte , petit apéritif offert tous les soirs, personnel très aimable et attentif une mention spéciale pour la dame prénommée Éduarda.
The Quinta Penha de Franca are 2 hotels which equals 2 completely different experiences. Our friends were extremely happy at ‘De Mar’ hotel but the rest of the group rated the older hotel as a 2 /3 star at best. Positives were the location, old charming building and sea views. But the building needs a lot of tlc, repairs, cleaning, maintaining the gardens and upgrading of facilities. Depending on the time of day the shower would only provide a drizzle of water that was either scalding or cold. The plug was too small for the bath tub and kept popping out. Only one small complementary bottle of water for the week for 2 guests. Nothing in the bathroom was replenished and often no extra milk or teabags provided in the room. The beds were not the best and the pillows were thin and old. No kettle in the room. Only a coffee machine which is not great for making tea. We paid for half board but water was an extra at 5 euros a night. It all felt very penny pinching. Our group of 12 women had booked over a year ago for 6 twin rooms but they had allocated us all double beds. They seemed surprised that we weren’t happy and said that as they were fully booked they could only give us 3 twins and everyone else had to upgrade to a single room or the sister hotel. We had no choice but to accept as we had been travelling since 4am and couldn’t see an alternative. The food was OK but 4 of us got sick from something in the hotel. Apart from one or two standouts, staffwere mostly surly, especially the reception, who never gave eye contact or greeted us. With a small amount of improvements, staff training for better communications, it could be a real gem. If you come here, make sure you book the ‘De Mar’ hotel.
Hôtel charmant, intime avec un service de qualité. Nous avons passé une semaine là bas et tout était super. De plus nous étions dans une petite maisonette collée à la réception nous n'étions que deux chambres, parfaitement insonorisées avec une jolie terrasse chacun. Vraiment un enchantement ce lieu. 🙏🏼💗

Hotel Quinta Da Penha De França is a lovely, comfortable hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Help-yourself style breakfast with plenty of choice. Good position, a 10-15 minute walk into central Funchal yet still quiet. Choice of pools although it was too cold for us! There was work going on whilst we were there, but it didn't spoil our holiday. A great place.
Fiz reserva no site principal do hotel e fui redirecionada para o outro edifício com condições inacreditáveis para o preço pago. Decoração péssima, pequeno almoço péssimo, pessoal antipático....😡. Fui enganada a 100% e não recomendo de todo este hotel e a maneira de confundir o cliente que faz reserva online sem saber que vai ficar em tão mas condições para um preço excessivamente exagerado, paguei 166 euros por 1 noite
