Next - Savoy Signature

The entire experience was amazing. From check in, to check out. The facilities were clean and easy to navigate. The staff could not be more helpful and courteous!! The breakfast buffet was epic. Definitely try to make it to the sister hotel restaurants, foo and service was incredible. Three hour dinners that felt flew by. I can't wait to go back.

We had a great stay here in room 620. The breakfast was a good spread including protein shakes and mimosas, and the facilities were great. Note that ocean view rooms facing the street directly are affected by traffic noise however. The hotel’s identity is troubled. There is evidence of high spec construction but the neon lighting and endless hip hop music in the lobby posture towards adolescence.

Third time in Madeira and second time to Next hotel ! This time we had one apartments sleeping four and one hotel room for two . The apartments are well priced and well kitted out , however you have to be mobile for this apartment as there is no lift and I was thankful we were on the third floor not the sixth floor! There is a handy side entrance to get up to the main road . The only down side to the apartment , some bedrooms have opaque glass with no view and the window opens out to a neighbouring garden so you would have no privacy if you opened it ! However there was a lovely balcony off the livingroom , although no view it was very peaceful . Very comfortable sofas and great facilities in the kitchen . Even a utility room . You get one bottle of water , but for a four star hotel it seems reasonable to expect tea and coffee . The apartment was kept very clean. The staff were so lovely ! The reception staff were very helpful and the pool staff were incredibly nice . The great highlight for me is the access to the sea for swimming and the access to the town centre. Lots of lovely restaurants to try round about . We had a really wonderful holiday . However I noticed it was a younger clientele and that was ok as there were four in our party in their twenties . However some bold pop art now sits sharply against the boutique feel that I first experienced three years ago and the “ I am sexy and I know it “ chair complete with disco ball made me feel I was no longer the demographic they were hoping to attract. When I had a Quick Look it’s called Young Next on their website now and I would say that answered my question. However a quick trip across the road to the Royal Savoy provided the atmosphere we were looking for . A nice glass of wine overlooking the sea in peace and quite was perfection .

Good hotel, but a bit of a mixed bag. Good Location, 20 minute walk to start of old town, near harbour, and also great restaurants and bars up behind hotel. Great breakfast Excellent staff Always sunbeds free at pool Quite a funky feel from reception to rooms, then very traditional after that Not so Rooms are 1970s retro fits, poor lighting, no mirrors at dressing table and dated kitchenette. Poor shower which floods floor. Lack of wardrobe and drawer space. Reception / bar area is like an airport lounge, rarely saw anyone use it. Main bar appears to be at pool side, rooftop bar greatly underused - all lacked atmosphere Breakfast v busy and slow to clear and reset tables Overall good base for exploring Funchal / Madeira but on a very steep hill

The bed was wonderful. I liked the security of needing a card to use the lift to get to your room. The food was nice. Staff were very helpful
