Skandaliczny wyjazd do Kataru z biura podróży Itaka.

We did a barbecue and it was really splendid and beautiful. The lamb was delicious, including the shrimps. Additionally, Nima was very helpful in bringing the food and organising the table. Overall, a wonderful day with family and friends and this made it even better. Thank you for this special occasion done perfectly.

We had high hopes for Hilton Salwa after traveling all the way from London, but our experience was incredibly disappointing and far from what you’d expect from a 5-star resort. From the moment we arrived, service was inconsistent and underwhelming. We were told our room wasn’t ready at check-in, only to be offered an "upgrade" for a fee. We were open to viewing it, but had to wait 20 minutes for a buggy—only to be taken to a dirty room! When we complained, suddenly they “found” an early check-in for the original room we’d paid for. To make things worse, the manager blatantly lied, saying we had been upgraded—when in fact we were just being given what we had already booked. Not a great start. The overall service quality was unpredictable. One day there was no poolside service, the next day we were offered a cooler with water. Housekeeping missed towels and didn’t clean properly. We noticed some rooms were provided fruit bowls while ours wasn’t—again, no consistency. There was no turndown service either, something you’d expect at a 5* resort. Upon arrival (after a long journey and an hour's drive from Doha), there was no welcome drink or warm reception—just a lot of waiting around. Breakfast was a daily struggle due to overcrowding; on some mornings we had to wait for a table, and the food wasn’t even served hot. Staff seemed poorly trained, with minimal customer service skills and no attention to detail. One day, the pool was full of leaves and no one bothered to clean it. One of the main reasons we booked Hilton Salwa was the adjacent waterpark—but that, too, was a letdown. They refused to let my son bring small toys in with no clear explanation. We were told wristbands were mandatory, but I have eczema and my three-year-old didn't want to wear his either as it irritated him. It took a manager’s approval just to get an exception—something that could’ve been handled with more flexibility and empathy. The kids' play area is decent, but the soft play section was always closed. Apparently, they shut it down when they “can’t control the kids,” which seems odd—especially when it was just my son there (and we were with him!). Even a staff member didn’t understand why it was shut at that time. We were on a half-board package, and shockingly, dinner didn’t include coffee, tea, or even soft drinks. This is again very inconsistent with what other similar resorts offer. We asked for a banana for my son and they refused to provide one without first peeling it and none were available at breakfast and we had to call reception to ask for one who said it would be chargeable if they brought it to the room! Additionally, the north beach and north pool were closed without any notice, and there was no explanation provided. The beach that was open was in poor condition—dirty, with bottle tops scattered around—and there was absolutely no beachside service. Overall, Hilton Salwa might have the infrastructure of a luxury resort, but the experience was far from luxurious. Between the lack of professionalism, disorganised service, and lack of basic amenities, we wouldn’t return or recommend it.
