We went to the Decameron Club from April 21-28, 2025. The resort was very small and tired and not good. We were assigned a small room on the outskirts of the resort and it did not feel like it was part of the original build but a property acquisition. There was not even room for a chair, just a bed and desk. The listing said it included toiletries, when we arrived it was just your standard issue hotel bar of soap and a tiny bottle of junky shampoo. We asked the front desk and they could offer nothing more. The bathroom had lots of mold throughout but the big one was the caulking at the sink was disgusting. The staff was very nice, although we witnessed one of the Lifeguards cutting his nails, including his toes right at the bar. Everyone around him was shocked to see this. However, one staff member we really think needs a shout is Jerome the bartender. He went out of his way to talk to us and get to know us; we really enjoyed speaking to him, great personality! The food was not anywhere near gourmet and it was obvious things were reheated the next day. Most of the time if you did not get to the buffet early or when food was just brought out, it was cold and soggy. You just don’t serve soggy wings and fries. We were stunned that we not once saw a fresh banana, and learned that Jamaica is a big exporter of them. They listing also claims to have multiple restaurants but in reality it has the main buffet and a smaller restaurant that requires a reservation. The “third” restaurant is nothing more than a snack bar that only served, soggy wings, cold and soggy fried and gross looking hotdogs and hamburgers.

I am sure the place use to be nice, its a very small resort, but tired. The staff were super nice and polite, except for a lifeguard that thought it was OK to cut his nails at the pool bar. Even his toe nails. I have the picture too. Everyone around the pool was disgusted. The Room was tiny and needed work. Paint on both lamp shades, peeling paint in the corners, and constant smoke detectors beeping at night. We asked the front desk several times, but nobody showed up. The bath Sink was in desperate need of caulk, it use to be white, but it was black. No chair in the room, just a bed and tiny fridge with only a bottle of water. The food was not good at all. They don't have heat lamps so the wings and fries were always soggy or cold. Many of the main dishes were served cold, and you don't serve cold fish. Not a single banana was served for the entire 8 days. The island is a huge supplier of bananas, but none for us. When we told the locals, they were shocked at this as bananas are cheap and everywhere on the island. They use paper straws so bring your own, you will see plenty of them on the floor and sand with the cigarette butts. Also pack a insulated drinking cup, they serve little cups. only 2 restaurants, as you can't call the snack bar a restaurant. Tiny Lobby, no sports bar, but they had great rum at all 4 bars and Find Jerome at the bar, he was the best employee for the week. Great guy to talk with. The water was beautiful so we made the best of it.

This place has taken my heart. The vibe, the beach, the gardens, but most importantly the staff. It is a paradise place, so relaxing and beautiful. The entertainment team are the real gem in the crown, I feel like I've made friends for life. They work so hard and really make the holiday extra special. What a special special place. We will definitely be back next year! Thank you thank you thank you!
