Residence Le Sun Valley

Hotel took booking for February in September. Planned ski school, ski hire etc all around it to give us a relaxing ski holiday. Answered questions to us in January, took payment end of January. Cancelled our reservation with no good reason or apology 7 days before UK school half term week. We had to scrabble things together to make best out of the holiday. Sounds like they did to several others too.

Having booked a trip for 10 people almost six months ago, you can imagine how disappointed and upset we all where to be notified that the Sun Valley Appartments had cancelled our reservation with no explanation a week before we where due to travel. Having booked flights, transportation, ski hire, restaurants and lift passes our only option is to try and find alternative accommodation with 5 days to go in a resort that is now sold out. I would seriously consider booking with a organisation like Sun Valley that fails to communicate with its guests and leaves you high and dry at the 11th hour.

So much more than we hoped for in many ways . Spacious , clean , tidy, well equipped apartments , beautiful views , good lift . Furnishings a little tired . Lovely staff who let us check in early, a godsend after travelling . Met our request for adjoing apartments. Nice and warm too Good ski lockers , pool a bit chilly but fuss free large jacuzzi . Nice sauna and changing area Ski in and out for competent intermediates We had geautiful weather all week with great snow. Nice restaurants nearby , Bar 2050 , little Mo and Monica's. Le Bsryon OK if staff get off their phones. Great boulangerie nearby too

We visited Sun Valley for an early Easter ski trip with the kids. The great bits are that it’s ideally located and is proper ski in ski out being 2 minutes ski from the Bergerie chairlift. The apartment was absolutely fine for the price, spacious enough with a good balcony and smart TV with Netflix (ideal for the kids after a days skiing) and a little kitchenette for making meals. The decor is a little tired but the apartment was clean. The kitchenette was well appointed and allowed us to make breakfasts and dinner a few nights. The only challenge is there is no oven (just a microwave) but with a full sized hob and crucially a dishwasher we worked round that fine. The pool and spa area were great. The changing rooms and showers have been recently refurbished so were nice and whilst the pool isn’t the biggest it was great for the kids to have a bit of a swim in whilst the parents sat watching in the jacuzzi or nearby sauna and steam rooms. There is also an Intersport ski hire shop in the building- a massive plus as it took all the hassle out of renting skis. The only true negative for us was the terrible on site restaurant. We are there on the first night and never again. We also met people who had evening meals included in their stay who instead chose to eat at other restaurants at additional expense instead! The building is very close to restaurants and a reasonably well stocked Spar so covered all the bases we needed for a great ski trip. Would definitely return.

We were staying in the 7-room appartment with 10 people. We booked the catering at Ski France. Charlotte was our hostes. The catering was excellent. We got a huge breakfast. In the afternoon there was cake at 16.00 and coffee/tea. In the evening we got a three cours dinner. It was perfect!
