Sunscape Dominicus La Romana

We visited June 25 with family. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. We stayed at the pool by the bar. The one time we went to the beach, I injured my foot on the rocks. Highly recommend wearing water shoes. Don’t pay for VIP if you don’t have an ocean view because it’s not worth it. We paid for the upgrade but it was not an upgrade at all. We visited the Italian, buffet, hibachi, Brazilian, and grill restaurants. We did not care for the grill but it is available when restaurants are changing and the food truck is available until 11. All restaurants close at 11. When my 8 yo woke up at 11:30 to eat, we got sandwiches from the cafe which stays open 24 hours. I recommend osobuku if you eat Italian. The entertainment staff is personable. If you become ill, the staff doctor is separate and comes with a minimum fee of $250 for Motrin. My 8yo enjoyed the kid friendly activities. I enjoyed the water aerobics and the gym daily. My 2yo loved the kid slides. My 16yo and husband loved the larger slides.

The resort has some amazing employees!!! Very kind and caring. Some restaurants were very good, but some maybe average. The beach is difficult to navigate with the rocks, but still beautiful!! Best thing was Diosiris, a member of the Concierge department. Diosiris Rodriguez from your Concierge department at the Sunscape Resort in La Romana is truly a caring and dedicated employee. After many issues with our vacation (booked through UVC) and our rooms, and after many, many staff members offering to help…but not providing any help, Diosiris had such compassion and understanding and took actions to make our stay the best possible stay. He provided a bed for our daughter when others told us there were no extra beds; he walked me around the resort after getting lost several times to assist me with getting familiar with the layout; he went out of his way to get us reservations for dinner and be sure we knew the best places and times to go; several times as I was on the phone waiting for help from UVC, he brought be a chair and a drink (meanwhile, three other UVC staff were at the table with me for almost 30 minutes and did not offer a seat or a drink); and more!!!! I cannot list in a review how helpful and caring he was towards my family…but Diosiris is truly an amazing employee!!! And a blessing for our stay there!! He made our stay there pleasant and we felt cared for and assisted!!

The hotel management seriously needs to do something about their personnel’s attendance to their customers. It is unbelievable how un attentive they were. When i’m paying extra for preferred club I was expecting way better alcohol than smirnoff! and not for my mojitos to be mixed with sugar! Any drink that my family and I have ordered were disgusting they tasted nothing like what they are supposed to taste like. When I go to a restaurant it’s supposed to be top notch quality food but here I was beyond disappointed with the quality and taste. We ordered sushi only for it to come out cold but already PREMADE. Then we decide to try out some hibachi, presentation was great the staff did a great job at making its fun and interesting to watch however the food was once again bland not flavor what so ever, we asked for some spice but they continued to tell us that the food has some spice already and they don’t have any extra to give, some other restaurant offered us tobacco sauce which tasted awful!!! Moving to the Mexican restaurant, I had to the most awful experience there as well not only did they make us wait extremely long to get the food when they brought its out it’s tasted like it has been cooked a week prior. We ordered ceviche for them to bring us some bowl and 3 little pieces of shrimp the red snapper tasted awful had no flavor. Overall all the restaurants that we have tried were unbelievably horrible had no flavor and tasted like the food has been prepared days before.

All staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for you. The entertainment team was incredible, especially the circus night, that was probably the best performance I’ve seen for a long time! Beach was stunning, white sands and blue seas and the pool was big. Food was available 24/7, wide selection. Excursion staff were generous and informative. When we arrived, staff stated “welcome home” and it definitely did feel that way. We didn’t want to leave!

We have just returned from sunscape dominicus . Up on arrivel we upgraded to sea view room which was the best decision ever. The original basic room was a little minimezed so we are happy we made that decision. The beach is absolutely amazing stunning clear water and white sand. The hotel had various number of restaurants and we were happy with all the service whereever we went. We have been travelling to the caribbean for many years now and this was the first olace where we did not feel staff was being nice to rip us off. They generally were really helpful and not pushy at all. The food was great!very tasty and fresh! We only drank water from bottles never from tap. Cocktails at the bar were also nice. Just in general we definatley had a great time and will return with the kids as well in future.
