R.C. Collection: Walking Tour of Traben-Trarbach with Underground Cellars

You can discover Traben-Trarbach from above and below ground today. First, you’ll get your bearings on a 45-minute walking tour of the old town. Top sights include its timbered town hall and bell tower. This small city was once the Moselle Valley’s only town. It was also one of the world’s most important producers of wine in the early 1900s. You’ll find out more about this in the second half of today’s tour, as you head below the streets for a subterranean experience. As the demand for wine cellars increased, the town came up with a genius solution – building huge cellars underneath the town. You’ll venture down into one of the vaults for a 45-minute tour. And, it wouldn’t be a trip to Traben-Trarbach without a glass of wine thrown in, too.
