Feel the freedom of underwater exploration – without any equipment. This beginner freediving course introduces you to all the basics of diving using breath-holding techniques alone. Over one-and-a-half days, you'll be taught a mix of practical and theory before trying out your new-found skills with a few dives in the Atlantic.As one of Portugal's premier marine reserves, the waters off the coast of Madeira are the perfect spot for first-time free divers. Head to the dive centre and fully qualified instructors will teach you all the basics over your one-and-a-half day course. A mix of practical and theory, they'll have you exploring the Atlantic Ocean in no time.Free of bulky equipment, you'll make less noise underwater meaning you'll see more marine life. The waters here are calm and clear so you can expect to spot plenty of fish. And when you've completed the course, you'll take away new skills that you can use anywhere in the world.
- Minimum age of 12 years
- Must have a medical certificate and good swimming skills
- A medical questionnaire: SSI TRY SCUBA MEDICAL QUESTIONNAIRE needs to be filled out and signed by the diver to clarify that he or she does not suffer from any of the listed disqualifying conditions and is able to manage the ordinary physical requirements of diving
