Scaling our way to Fuerteventura's highest point, Pico de la Zarza, you'll be rewarded with views over the island's incredible Mars-like landscapes, including the Jandia Peninsula.Your guide will give you an insight into the geology of the area, and with luck, point out wildlife like lizards, Canarian shrews and nesting birds. Sightings of Egyptian vultures and kestrels aren't uncommon either. Hear stories about Villa Winter – rumoured to have been a Nazi hideout after World War II – and keep your camera handy for the vistas over Cofete beach. On the return journey, you'll stop in Jandia to grab a coffee or have a quick swim at the beach.
