Journey up the Drachenfels Mountain
Today, you’ll be dropped in Konigswinter, where you’ll board the Drachenfels Railway for a scenic tram ride. The line rattles from here to the summit of the Drachenfels mountain, and has outstanding views across the Rhine region and the river. You’ll ride the tram up to the middle station, then get off for a visit to Drachenburg Castle. This place boasts Disney-style good looks – it’s covered in turrets and tall windows, with manicured gardens. You’ve got an hour and a half to explore on your own. Then you’ll head back down the mountain and transfer back to your ship.
Difficulty level: Easy
This activity involves a small amount of walking and standing – usually less than an hour-and-a-half in total. You might come across a few stairs, slight inclines, or uneven surfaces.- Starting time is subject to change
