This excursion gives you a whistle-stop tour of the so-called Venice of the North. You’ll explore the canal-laced city by bus and on foot, ticking off everything from museums to flower markets. You’ll pass through the Jewish Quarter, which is packed with synagogues and memorials to holocaust victims. You can also tick off a statue immortalising Anne Frank, close to the house where the Jewish teenager hid with her family during the Second World War. En route, you’ll get to see the oh-so-grand concert hall and the former home of painter Rembrandt, which has been restored to its 17th-century glory. You can also stop outside the Hilton hotel, where John Lennon and Yoko Ono held Bed-Ins for peace during the Vietnam War. You’ll wrap up your tour at the flower market. Here, the florists are housed on floating barges, and you can shop for tulips in every colour during some free time.
