Oh wow..,just got home from an amazing time at this hotel…this place is fabulous …3 tiered pools with plenty of sun loungers around each….lovely views over the med especially from the roof top bar and rooms on the upper level…the food is plentiful and caters for even the fussiest of eaters water is also included…if you fancy you can even have Cava for breakfast …believe me I did …grounds are immaculate……entertainment is low key in the roof top bar …singers mainly..and very good they all were…. BUT…..it’s most definitely the staff here that make this place so enjoyable…I can’t name them all ..wish I could…. but the most wonderful people they all are….cant do enough for you …..both bars make the most delicious Pina Colada’s…simply Heaven in a pineapple shaped glass….oh my… If you want a lively hotel this is not the place for you…. BUT …if it’s peace…..tranquility….to unwind …you won’t be disappointed…….Enjoy 🤗

We chose this hotel for a lay-down holiday, tempted by the promises of peace and quiet and we were not disappointed. The grounds and interiors are immaculate while decor is stylish and understated. Food is good and plentiful, opening times are strict and to the minute, staff are efficient and approachable. Plenty of space and beds around the pool areas. We recommend taking a boat trip along the coast, reception can sort this for you with a pick-up /drop-off from the hotel. Take a walk or a run to the local beaches or an easy to negotiate bus into Mahon where you can enjoy the cosmopolitan vibes and an informative harbour tour. Although the hotel is rated 5 star it is not comparable to some 5 star hotels you may experience in places like Turkey. We loved our holiday to Menorca and our stay at Barcelo Nura and we are likely to return in the future. Out of all the Balearic islands the Menorcan people will give you the warmest , most genuine welcome.

Wanting somewhere a little more special to celebrate our 30th anniversary, we chose the Barcelo Nura about a mile away from Punta Prima. We booked through Jet2 and found their pricing favourable for four nights with flights from Birmingham Arriving at around 13:00 we were greeted by friendly staff and offered a glass of fizz whilst we checked in. Juan helped us to our room which was originally a Deluxe Room (211) which we found beautifully appointed but a little dark. A quick trip back to reception and Laura and George sorted a Junior Suite with semi private pool for an extra EUR100 per night, and by was it with it. We settled into room 408 with a sea view to the rear balcony and pool to the front. At just a few years old this hotel is immaculate. There are several pools and plenty of sun beds. The pools benefit from all day sunshine, and pool service is just a click away on the Barcelo app. We were also all inclusive, which provides plenty of choice for wines, beers and spirits, however if you want Bombay or JD expect to pay. The minibar is also included in the AI deal but only for the first stock, once you have used it any replacements are payable, although we did receive bottled water free every day. That said if you have a pool room you cannot order drinks to your patio as part of the AI deal, this comes under a chargeable room service Food in the Comedor restaurant was very good. Breakfasts were exceptional, and the lunch we had included in the AI deal also very good quality with buffet salads, sweets and a daily choice of 5 different mains. The evening meal was also good but in our opinion not quite as good as breakfast and lunch. Whilst it offers a number of dishes and also steaks/ fish grilled whilst you wait we found some of the meats a little tough and more bond than meat on the cuts. Also the salmon contained many bones…so be careful The evening offered to rooftop B Heaven bar which had musical entertainment from 9-11 daily, and had a lovely vibe and great view over the sea and hotel pools. We found all staff incredibly helpful and friendly, with a special call out to George and Laura There is nothing really to dislike about this hotel, it truly is beautiful and worthy of 5 stars However, if you are looking for a hotel where you can walk to a bar or restaurant in the evening, then this is not for you. It is on its own as a destination so you will need car hire or a taxi to visit nearby nightlife or if you want 15 mins EUR 15 in a taxi you can be in Mahón This is predominantly for couples or those with infants. It is not really a family destination as there’s not enough to keep the older children entertained Would we return? Absolutely

We tagged on a 2 night stay to Barcelona Nura at the end of our villa holiday. Our villa had been a short walk away in Binibeca and we know the area well so it was convenient for us. Not usually a fan of hotels but this was great and our 15 year old son also loved it. Beautiful pools, really great water wellness centre that we used twice, great room, great breakfast and really helpful staff. I’ve seen people commenting about the location and its remoteness from a resort but in our opinion this is a perfect location, you just need a car which in our opinion is a necessity to get out and see everything the island has to offer anyway. It’s a really short walk down to a great swimming spot and restaurant in the local village. 10 stars from us. Thanks so much for hosting us last week.

Warning! Do not go to this hotel unless you want to be completely spoilt, in beautiful, peaceful surroundings!! It is very quiet but perfect for what we wanted, I wouldn’t change a thing. Our 3rd time and it gets better every time. Special thanks to Fiona and Dominic in the restaurant for their excellent service.
