We had been staying at Glacier Hotel Grawand several times in the past, but during our last stay in January, my partner proposed to me – a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Instead of a small celebration or even a simple gesture (like the cake and decorations we saw given to other guests each time), we were met with unprofessional and disrespectful treatment from a waitress. This caused us a lot of sadness and spoiled what should have been a beautiful stay. For example, the next day our table and place settings were taken away and given to new guests without any explanation, leaving us without a place to sit and with no table number assigned to us. Our orders were mixed up, and we were repeatedly ignored. She even pulled faces and made rude expressions while I was kindly speaking to her, and also used the sauna and gym, occupying spaces meant for paying guests. I submitted a written complaint, yet after more than six months I have still not received even a reply. Ignoring loyal guests in this way is absolutely unacceptable and shows a complete lack of professionalism. Sadly, the management is going downhill.

Just discovered I didn't submit this review at the time in September 19!. Our 11-day trip to Italy was organised round our 3 night stay in the Glacier Hotel, and it was in every way the high point. It was the end of September, but still spectacular without very much snow apart from the glacier itself. It's the highest hotel in Europe at 3200m so we stopped 2 nights in Maso Corto at about 2000m. to acclimatise. The room was of a decent size, with a comfortable couch, plenty of storage space, and of course, the view! As we were well before the main season only a few rooms were in occupation so choice at breakfast and dinner was quite limited but nevertheless very good. I particularly liked the lingonberry pancake. We did the short walks to the view point and to the mountain top, and the track down to the bottom of the chairlift, and enjoyed them, and then sitting outside in the sunshine. Considering the difficulties of the location, and the cable-car and parking being included, I thought the price quite reasonable - it will be more in the high season naturally. What made our stop particularly enjoyable was the friendly and helpful staff, in particular Tamara on reception, and Christoffer and Zeinab in the restaurant. Thanks to all of you!
