Pestana Blue Alvor Beach - All Inclusive Hotel

Amazing holiday. Special mention to Miguel from the animation team as well as the young lady who worked with him (Moana - sorry we didn’t catch your name! They were brilliant and kept the whole family entertained. , especially the Disney show. The pool is very cold however you do get used to once you get in. Views from the balcony are amazing, ignore the reviews about the lifts they are very straightforward and easy to use. The food was not what we expected for a 5 star resort, with breakfast being the same all week, the food truck did not appear the week we were there and the pool snacks were disappointing. The hotel and pool areas are really clean and the sports facilities are brilliant and easy to book at reception, lovely short private walk to the beach with great restaurants for lunch. Deffo recommend having a trip out to Slide & Splash nearby.

I would love to give this hotel a great review as it is very clean and the staff ( well most) we friendly. However I am giving my opinion o the rating it has and what is charged for 5*. This hotel is definitely not 5* the seats in the restaurant are very worn and collapsing so uncomfortable to sit on. The chairs outside near the bar should have cushions on them but haven’t so you can’t sit on those for long as they’re so painful to sit on. The pool was freezing cold and the entertainment left a lot to be desired. There was a singer in the bubbles bar but he wasn’t very good. We made our own entertainment playing games, and our own music. The food in the buffet was ok but I wouldn’t say it was 5* at all. The Italian restaurant everyone was complaining about the food in there but we tried it , left most of it the spaghetti was overcooked and not very nice at all dry no sauce. I wish I’d had pizza now. They only had 1 beer available and it was flat most days. I asked for a Black Russian to be told only drinks on the list. So I had 1 vodka 1 kalhula and 1 glass of coke viola! Job done 🤣🙈 We used to go into town for a decent drink . When we first arrived they hadn’t given us a balcony room even though TUI charged us £400 + for a balcony room. Towels had holes in them but they were clean. I did complain to TUI explaining it’s not 5* but they said everyone else was happy with the hotel and I’d been the only one complaining. Look around at other hotels there are some nice ones about .

Excellent hotel, the staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are fabulous, really good size, balcony overlooking the sea and kept extremely clean! Entertainment staff are amazing, especially Bruna, Miguel and Fabio, great fun with bags of energy. I cannot recommend this place enough, great for families too. Love the self service at the bar and by the adult pool. All in all a must stay if in the Algarve.
