Overall an enjoyable week
Visited Wednesday to Wednesday, including couple of days before main UK school holidays started into school holiday week, on self catering basis as family of 2 adults 2 children.
The kids enjoyed decorating and hiding some stones around the hotel during the week, see on the pictures. They were all gone when we checked so please let us know if you found any! Hope they brought some fun and enjoyment.
What was good:
-Good size apartments for self catering, we were in a 1 bed deluxe apartment, ground floor, kids slept in the lounge area, one on the sofa one on a camp bed
-Had issue with safe on arrival, reported to reception and before we could even get back to our room maintenance was waiting - they fixed it within five minutes
-Great location in the resort, within a few minutes walk to lots of restaurants and bars
-10 mins walk to the beach
-Only 20 minutes from the airport
-Amazing shower - I could stand there all day!
-Late checkout €20 for 3 hours extra, be sure to ask early if you need it as it did get booked up
-Good on-site shop, many items comparable in price to the HiperDino and other shops down the road, eg big bottles of water were cheaper at the hotel than the supermarket, rubber rings cheaper than the china shop
-Never a problem getting a sunbed, always more piled up if you need more, even on the busiest days during the school holidays
-Usb ports by the beds in the main bedroom, much easier than keep swapping plugs around
-Staff always friendly and helpful
-Animation team great always doing activities
-Seen a few posts about cockroaches- we had a ground floor apartment and didn't see any, anywhere in the hotel, or the whole resort for that matter
-WiFi included but was a bit hit and miss at times, so the kids tell us!
What wasn't so good:
-Hotel is right on the flight path, most of the bigger noisier planes came in during the afternoons, but didn't go all night!
-Had to pay extra for the safe, but it's increasingly common for hotels to charge extra for this now.
-Drinks costs in the bars for self catering were crazy prices, just buy some drinks from the on-site shop for much less!
-If you're planning to cook meals in your room you'll probably struggle with the limited cooking utensils, you'll manage but miss some useful items from home
-Stage is in an awkward place with limited tables, which are also shared with the all inclusive dining area. We often couldn't get a table so stayed out or went back to our room.
-Loads of little black bits in the water of the middle pool, I don't know what they were, but a little off-putting so we spent most of our time in the bigger pool
Note there's no air conditioning in the apartments, this is advertised before arriving so not unexpected, but the rooms can get warm. There's a fan on the ceiling in the bedroom, but nothing in the lounge.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Broncemar. The hotel and resort grew on us over the week, we were all sad to be going home!
