Extremely dissapointed with many aspects.
I’m currently staying at this hotel and, while the hotel itself is really nice and the majority of the staff have been welcoming and polite, there have been several disappointing aspects of my stay that I feel need to be addressed.
The most upsetting experience was with a particular member of staff at the restaurant. I was wearing a bikini cover-up — something I’ve worn regularly without issue — and was told it was unacceptable. I didn’t argue and agreed to leave straight away, but the staff member continued shaking her head, talking about me to other staff members, and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and singled out. What made this even more frustrating is that I have seen several other guests wearing similar — or even more revealing — clothing and they were not approached or confronted at all. I understand that not everyone may find that kind of clothing appropriate, but the way I was spoken to was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional, and the inconsistency in how rules are applied is disappointing.
The food and drinks included in the all-inclusive package have also been extremely disappointing. The quality of the food is very poor — so much so that we’ve ended up eating out most nights, which has pushed us well over our planned budget. The same goes for the drinks. During the day, the options are so limited that we’ve had to buy our own drinks from outside the hotel. If we had known how restricted the food and drink options would be, we honestly wouldn’t have booked this hotel.
Housekeeping has also been a major issue. They are extremely slow with cleaning the rooms, and when it is done, the standard is very poor. I’ve also been bitten quite a lot during my stay, and given the lack of cleanliness, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if this is due to the hygiene conditions in the room. With stray cats regularly coming onto the balcony and sometimes inside, maintaining a clean environment should be a clear priority — but unfortunately, it hasn’t felt that way.
Another issue is the limited number of sunbeds around the pool. Unless you’re up very early, there’s a good chance you won’t get one. Many guests have ended up having nowhere to sit and have had to go down to the beach and pay for sunbeds, which shouldn’t be the case at an all-inclusive hotel. A lot of people would put their towels on beds early in the morning — some even throwing towels or belongings down from their balconies — and then not return for hours. This was addressed at one point during our stay, and things improved for a couple of days, but I doubt it will stay that way consistently. My partner has been getting up at 7 a.m. every day to go to the pool and actually stay there to fairly claim a spot, so it’s frustrating to see others bending the rules without consequence.
Lastly, the noise levels at night can be excessive. I understand the hotel wants to provide entertainment for its guests, but the music is so loud that even with our balcony doors closed, we could still hear it clearly as if it were inside our room.
Overall, although the hotel itself is visually lovely and most of the staff are polite, these issues have significantly affected our stay. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
