The overall experience of this hotel was very disappointing. From the outside, the hotel looks well maintained and cared for and with it's size, I'd of expected much better. We stayed here only one night as we had a flight the next day so thought best to stay near the airport, and encountered a range of issues in this time. To start, we arrived earlier and waited to see if we could check in early. The staff were unbelievable slow checking people in and out and whatever else the requests might have been. We must have waited close to 20 minutes in a small queue before being seen. We were told the room was not ready at 11am and told to come back at 3pm. We decided to leave our suitcases at reception and get tickets for them to pick them up later and head down to the pool. The hotel is not signposted well at all. Lots of no entry corridors and doors and very few signs pointing you towards things. The map isn't very helpful as there's no corridors or arrows telling you which ways to go through the hotel. After finding the pool, we soon realised that this hotel is very child friendly. Lots of screaming and splashing and not as relaxing as we first though. I went to get some drinks from the bar and same with the hotel reception staff, the service was very slow. The beer they pour is also alot to be desired, they don't fill the beer to the top. After a 15 minute wait I finally managed to get some drinks and we headed to the beach part instead. The beach is alot calmer and one of the few nice things I have to say about this hotel. The bay the hotel is in it's very picturesque and the water is quite shallow, perfect for new swimmers. The sunbeds could do with some updating though. After the beach at 4pm, we went to check in. We had one person in front and again, took around 10 mins to actually get seen by someone. When we got the key, they didn't ask for the luggage tickets so anyone could have, at any point, grabbed our luggage which was out in the open. The lifts are rather tight and require the door to be shut for the lift to move which if you have a few bags, can be tricky. There's a stair well leading up to the rooms and one going down which is no entry, however, they must never clean this stairwell as the amount of dirt and debris lying on the stairs makes it feel abandoned. We go to our room and the room number was damaged so you couldn't read what it says. When we got in, we could feel bits under our feet on the floor, the room hadn't been cleaned properly. We then checked the bathroom and there was dried poo on the wall next to the toilet. There was stains on some of the furniture and overall, it was just not good. Some of the fixtures and fittings weren't done correctly and lacked attention to detail. Around 7pm, we decided to order room service. We then found out our phone was broken, so I went down to the front desk and waiting in another small queue for a while before informing the receptionist. I ordered food from the desk and requested it be sent to our room. They also didn't have everything we wanted so we had to change our order. We were on the 5th floor of the main building with a seaview and as nice as the view was, they had live music the night we were there below our room in the restaurant area which was rather loud. We decided to go down and get some drinks but again, was very difficult to actually get served. I ordered multiple drinks to save me having to go order again. Id recommend they have bug zapper as the patio area had mosquitos and hornets flying area. We headed to our room and went to bed after and checked out around 8:30am. This was a very disappointing experience as previous reviews had stated good things about this hotel and I thought It would be a nice way to round out our trip. If you are thinking of booking, I'd recommend finding somewhere else. This hotel I could imagine was very good in it's hayday but currently really needs some TLC

If you want to be in the middle of nowhere, the location is fine. Lovely views from our room and the dining room. Room was very disappointing in as much as there was no bathroom as such. Fortunately, the toilet did have a door on it, but sink is in the hallway, and you step out of shower into hallway. There was a leak from a blocked sink, a light switch which wouldn't switch off, a safe which worked for one day out of seven. Magnifying mirror was missing. All was rectified apart from the safe, but it was time consuming having to go to reception every day to report problems. Atmosphere was clinical. Reception staff looked worn down and the holiday season not started yet. Spa was the most awful I have ever been in. Dirty floor, and one water jet only working. Housekeeping Manager is needed in this hotel to monitor and report room problems before guests arrive. They need to teach the staff what to do when servicing rooms. Also, they need to lock the rooms when they leave! We found our door unlocked one afternoon. Food ok, and restaurant staff good. There's no point reserving tables for the big groups - they just sit where they want. We have made a complaint to our tour operator, Tui. They aren't interested now. This is not a 5* hotel.

Interested in staying at a conveniently located airport hotel close to the Athens airport for your early morning departure from Athens? Think twice before you book Dolce by Wyndham. We were very disappointed by the hotel's considerable distance from the airport. Don't be fooled by its 6.7 km distance, and thinking that's close. For all the small, narrow, and winding roads, it still takes 20 minutes at 4:30 am when there is no one on the road. Yes, we looked on google maps first to see the hotel's proximity to the airport. As the crow flies, yes, its close. But that's were the analogy ends. Also, there is no shuttle to the airport. Granted, they did not advertise one. But the front desk person said it would be 50 Euros to book a taxi because 4:30 am was extra early in the morning. Got that? 50 Euros. In fact, if you book it yourself on UBER its 32.75 Euros, $13 Euros less than the hotel wanted to charge me by them booking it for me. So buyer beware. The hotel itself was lovely. The pool looked beautiful, as did the umbrellas and chairs on the beach. Wyndham has done a beautiful job of creating an aesthetically inviting atmosphere and a wedding party there looked delighted to be staying. So, choose wisely. We appreciated the hotel. But it wasn't the right choice for us. We'd likely book it again simply to relax and enjoy when we're not concerned about an early morning transatlantic flight.
