Check in was slow and painful. 1st room was in Building 15 was very old and out of date with broken tiles and shower grains and run alongside the street bars. The loud music from there all day and all night was horrendous. We had to ask to be moved. Thankfully, they put us in Building 2 and upgraded us to Sun Club. Unable to get a restaurant reservation via the app so we had to eat in either Windows or Kailescope. Both serviced the same type of food, although there was a massive section of starters, main and desserts, most of the food we ate was pretty much cold (unless you were lucky to catch them bring it out). I also noted lots of flies on food where it is open and not covered up. Enterainment started 9.30 most evenings, which we enjoyed. Lots of pools to swim in, but the chlorine levels aren't the same as the uk. Our swim suits and lilo had a green tint to them after a few days. Most staff are really friendly, there a a couple who just give a grunt at the bars - mostly likely because they are tired and being worked all day and night. Going in July had its advantages - less crowded, could get sun loungers when ever we went to the pool. No lines for food etc - disadvantages - so much seaweed in sea it was impossible to swim. Unfortunately, the hotel next door is closed and they are not clearing their part of the beach. The seaweed is left to build up creating a strong rotten egg smell. This is not the hotels fault, but we were unable to enjoy the beach during our 10 day stay. Overal, I would say this is a buget hotel and if its all you can afford then its ok - but I wouldn't go back to DR at all.

I took my daughter to Sunscape as a graduation trip. I was a little disappointed! Check in was very long, we were given a king bed with a little side cot for my adult daughter, I had booked a 2 double bed room. We asked to switch but the new room was not in an ideal location so we ended up staying in the honeymoon suite. Avoid room (1156) the light outside of the room did not work and it was located at the end of a hallway next to a sketchy laneway. There was also construction right next door to the room. The beach was not great, lots of seaweeds and could not go into the water. Most staff were not helpful or pleasant but the ones that were (Juanita) our house keeping, made up for it! For the most part, it was a good trip. Weather was very good, food was plenty, room was clean. Word of advice, make reservations for dining right at 9 am and keep trying. It takes several times before you get into site to book.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about our recent experience at Sunscape Coco Punta Cana. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this hotel is not run to the standards it advertises. Within minutes of checking in, the patio door broke — a piece of it literally came off in our hands. It took two full days for anyone to come fix it, despite repeated requests. The buffet situation is chaotic: if you arrive after 7:30pm, expect to wait 45–60 minutes just to be seated. The food quality is extremely poor, with a very limited selection. We essentially lived off chicken and fries during our stay, which is unacceptable for a supposedly all-inclusive resort. We actually had to leave the property just to get a decent meal — both at the Hard Rock restaurant and during an excursion. As for the à la carte restaurants, forget about it. Every day, reservations opened at 9:00am through the app, and by 9:03am, everything was already booked. We never once got in. Things got worse: on our second night, there was no running water in our room — the toilet couldn’t flush, and we couldn’t shower. That same night, water began leaking from a ceiling light fixture in the hallway, which was clearly dangerous. I reported it immediately, but the front desk staff were dismissive, simply saying, “I’ll report it,” and that there was nothing they could do. On our final night, we returned to our room around 6:00pm to get ready for dinner, only to discover that the entire hotel was without water again. We waited nearly 90 minutes with no ability to shower or use the restroom — totally unacceptable. I had to contact United Vacations twice just to get some assistance and begin the process of requesting a partial refund. We came here expecting relaxation and basic hospitality. Instead, we experienced broken facilities, poor food, unresponsive staff, and no access to advertised amenities. If you're considering this hotel — please reconsider. This is not the experience anyone deserves, especially when paying for an “all-inclusive” resort. I am formally requesting a partial refund through United Vacations due to the number of serious issues we encountered. And pls do not believe any positive reviews they must be bots that the hotel has setup. Definitely do not stay here!!!
