Lovely stay for a week at beginning of August. The Hotel is very impressive and the staff are all so polite and friendly it added an extra bonus to our stay. Transfer from Spit was about 1 hour and half. Room We had a sea view with balcony room near the top of the hotel and the views are amazing looking straight out onto the beach and sea. Loads of room for our family of four within the room, excellent air conditioning and powerful shower. The robes and slippers in the room were a nice touch and tea/coffee facilities in the room. One thing to bear in mind is that you only get one room card, we didnt ask if another was available but just something to be aware of in case you have some people in the room and others down by the pool area (as you need room card to put anything on the room tab). The cleaning staff were very efficient and friendly and a bottle of water was provided each day in the room which also has a small fridge which we used to keep it cool (be aware that you need to temporarily remove some bottles from the mini bar to create space, which is fine as long as you you dont drink from the mini bar and return these to the fridge before end of stay). Added incentive to be environmentally friendly by hanging a small bag on the door which means you dont need room cleaning and you get some biscuits in return (bottled water still left outside of room). Food in restaurant Moving onto the food, we found there was a good range of food at all meal times and again the staff were very good at keeping the food flowing, we were half board and drinks for evening meal were not included but we expected that so just something again to be aware of (6 euros for bottle of water). Our waitress in our area was Melisa and she was great. Food and drinks in Pool area This was decent, sandwiches, wraps, pizzas, chips etc, bit on the pricey side but maybe that is to be expected for 5* hotel. You can get food to your sunbeds or sit in the outside restaurant area and the menus vary slightly. Good mixture of drinks available which could be ordered from sunbeds, or you can order at the bar next to the pool (either swim up or walk around). Surprised that only one local beer seems to be available but it was very nice. A few areas of improvement for this would be that the range of mocktails is very limited (4) and my teenager daughter was left a little disappointed with this. Also, as the focus of the outside bar is the swim up pool, if you order drinks / food when not in the pool, it feels like you are hanging around at the back of the bar area, which still had plenty of staff servicing but often felt like you get in the way of them doing their job. The food (during peak times) took a while to come out and sometimes chips were a little luke warm. That being said the staff outside were all great and cant fault them at all. Pools and sunbeds Main pool was great, with swim up bar area (adults only), main pool depth the same throughout once you get down steps. Kids pool was also great, with good depth. Shaded smaller kids pool with mini slide for those really small kids and a small splash area with a water cannon. No problem at any time getting sunbeds and even in afternoon there were some free scattered around so no need to rush down in the morning. Kids entertainment team doing dance class in kids pool was good fun. Indoor pool is available for everyone and good size. One negative was that a juice bar next to kids pool seemed to not be open and when I asked they said they had run out of ingredients. Entertainment For the kids there are so many pools and also a games room which is open 1pm-9pm and had games consoles, table tennis and table football in, big shout out to Marko for making everyone feel so welcome and my younger girl loved it. There are also film nights a few times a week which was nice but not many people seemed to go. Adult entertainment was a little lacking and was done from the roomtop bar which is on the 8th floor, it was very impressive and some decent music played later on and we saw a magician one night who went around different tables but dont expect big shows. I was expecting that the roomtop bar would have more cocktails and mocktails than the pool bar but unfortunately not, however amazing view, especially at sunset. You can eat up there but need to book and we didnt so cant comment on the food. Beach Only a few minutes walk, stoning and drops off to deep water quickly so be careful but nice to be able to swim with some small fish when its quiet. Hotel guests get free use of certain sunbeds at the beach which was a nice bonus. Took a zen boat and jet ski out during our trip and really good fun. Area The town is a 20 minute walk on path running alongside the beach, plenty of stuff to do. Overall very enjoyable stay, many thanks.

This hotel is not 5 star, this rating is misleading The service, food, facilities do not meet 5 star standards The room was fine except we didn’t realise that we had booked a ‘lobby view’, we didn’t have a balcony just a window that wouldn’t open facing the main lobby. Therefore there was nowhere to dry wet swimsuits etc, the bathroom ended up full of wet clothes but it wasn’t aired and so they never really dried. The daily cleaning is minimal, the room sometimes didn’t even look like the maid had been in. Bed sloppily made, incorrect number of towels for the amount of people in the room left everyday. Breakfast is an unpleasant experience. It’s similar to a busy school canteen. For the number of people in the hotel the restaurant is too small. It’s crowded, huge queues for food, noisy, kids running around everywhere grabbing food with their hands, food spilled over the place. Food is not of good quality. The worst part is the single 4 slice toaster for a hotel of 600+ guests so you can imagine the queue for this. Staff are quite unfriendly, there is no service with a smile. To be honest not much service at all. Staff at the bar refused to give me a glass with ice. The number of sunbeds for the amount of people is inadequate. People start putting their towels on sunbeds from 7 am, if you’re not there early you won’t get a sunbed. We saw two separate arguments between people who had put their towel down and then other people had come along and taken their sunbed. This happens despite signs around the hotel saying no reserving sunbeds but the staff do not enforce it which is disappointing. Hotel charges per day for parking. They do have a valet service but we stopped using it after we went to reception and were told there’s no one to get your car for you. The rooftop bar is really nice, there is a beautiful sunset view and the cocktails are good. The beach is nice, it’s rocky so take water shoes. Good choice of water sports. The hotel is around 25 minute walk into Makarska where there are lots of nice restaurants and a lovely harbour. Mirakul, tempera and restaurant Castellum were our favourite restaurants in Makarska. This hotel cost us a similar price to our stays in hotels such as the ritz-Carlton resort in Tenerife and Atlantis in Dubai but it did not even come close to these hotels and I would not return or recommend this hotel.
