The hotel itself is quite modern and clean, and we stayed in the adults-only area. The rooms were lovely - clean and spacious with a fantastic shower. They opened up onto a private garden area with their own sunbeds. This was where we spent most of our holiday. Unfortunately, there’s very little to do nearby, with not many bars, shops, or attractions in the area. The beach is around a 20-minute walk away, and even there, the options are quite limited. The staff experience was mixed – the bar and restaurant staff were generally friendly and helpful, but we found the reception staff to be quite rude and abrupt, which was disappointing. The hotel has a small pool, but we didn’t use it as there weren’t enough sun beds available. There is also a small bar near the pool area but only 3 tables to site at if you don’t have a sun bed. The main bar was in the dining area and we didn’t really feel comfortable sitting here when we weren’t eating. Food-wise, it was a bit hit and miss. Most days we found something we liked, but on our last day, I was served undercooked chicken at lunch. I reported it to both the restaurant and reception staff, and I hope appropriate action was taken quickly as this could have been a serious health issue. We did take a bus to Morro Jable one day and found it to be a much nicer area with more to see and do – something we’d recommend if you’re staying in Costa Calma. Overall, the hotel has potential, but due to its location and a few disappointing experiences, I don’t think we’d return.

We’ve just returned from a week’s visit to the Taimar. We arrived late and were provided with a cold plate of food as we missed dinner. The biggest issue we found with this hotel is that they don’t provide bottled water. They have large water dispensers in the canteen and the reception but you’re not allowed to fill up water bottles, just small cups of water. We found this a massive problem. There were 2 small bottles of water in the room when we got there, but having up to get up at 3am on our first night to get a small cup of water to bring to the room was incredibly frustrating. We purchased bottled water the next day from the small mini market near the hotel but please take water with you if you are arriving to the hotel late as there are no nearby shops that are open late. The hotel was clean and the food was adequate. Lots of choice and options for fussy eaters as well (chicken nuggets and chips!). There are 2 bars, (neither open at the same time though) one by the pool and one in the main restaurant. There are not many places to sit to have a drink in the evening so you’re better off taking a drink back to your room as there is no music played and there is not much atmosphere at night. There’s no evening entertainment which we knew about before we went and it didn’t bother us, but please be aware that there are barely any restaurants or bars within walking distance and the beach is a 15 minute walk away. Reception will call you a taxi though. We hired a car and decided to stay in Corralejo for a couple of nights and they called me to make sure we were ok as the maids noticed we hadn’t stayed in the room overnight which I found to be a really nice touch. If you’re looking for a really quiet hotel with nothing surrounding it, this is the place for you, but if you’re looking for a hotel with an atmosphere, surrounded by local bars and restaurants, then you’ll be better off going somewhere else.

The hotel was nice, but certainly not a four star all inclusive, very disappointing! The pool looked deceivingly bigger in the photos and there was no other facilities in the resort, which was pretty much in the middle of nowhere. The beach is about a 20 minute walk away, but it’s not that nice, just as many rocks as sand, rough and murky sea and very windy. There is also no entertainment during the day or in the evening, and I wouldn’t feel safe walking at night, so really not a lot to do. There wasn’t even any English TV! The food was okay, less options than some larger hotels and wasn’t overly flavourful. A lot of the fruit and vegetables were canned and much of the meat and fish were hard, dry or chewy. There were also limited desert options and none of them were great, although the breakfast pastries were quite nice on some occasions. There were many strange rules, such as you can’t have bottled water. Why were there restrictions on bottled water?? A basic requirement! You could only have a small glass or plastic cups worth. In addition, you can’t have mojitos at lunch, only dinner, but you can have them from the pool bar all day. Very strange?!? There was a €40 charge if you didn’t bring the towels back, our towels and tea supply in the room weren’t replenished, there were no snacks between meals, watermelon was only served at dinner time (not when you want it at breakfast) and you had to pay extra for ice creams. The front desk weren’t particularly helpful or knowledgeable about the local area, but the waiting staff were all pleasant enough, although spoke limited English. The room was nice, clean and spacious with a great shower and a nice little porch area. Overall, we had a relaxing time over three nights, but I wouldn’t want to stay any longer and I certainly wouldn’t return. I also wouldn’t advise this hotel for families, as kids would be very bored and hungry if they’re fussy. It was a cheap ish deal for a reason and we spent way too long travelling as it’s miles from the airport too, it just wasn’t worth it unfortunately. The weather wasn’t even much better than it was in the UK!

We stayed at Taimar Hotel in Fuerteventura and were really impressed by how modern and clean the hotel is. Our room was lovely, with a fantastic shower – definitely one of the highlights! The restaurant area is beautifully designed and feels very high-end, but unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the setting. It was basic, quite limited, and lacked variety or any real excitement, a bit disappointing for an all-inclusive so we ate out at local restaurants. The bar serves absolutely incredible drinks, really top quality, but there’s nowhere relaxing to enjoy them. Aside from 3 high tables, there aren’t any cosy lounge areas, so it ends up feeling like you have to head back to your room after dinner. That’s a real shame, as it takes away from the social side of an all-inclusive experience. Overall, a lovely hotel with great potential, but it just needs a few tweaks to make the stay more comfortable and sociable.
