Riu Latino

This all-inclusive paradise boasts the most stunning beach, and though it was a bit of a trek to get there, it was absolutely worth every step! The drink service was like magic—poof, a fresh cocktail in hand! The pool was always buzzing with excitement, and the staff? Oh, they were as friendly and speedy as a caffeinated cheetah, ready to cater to your every whim. For our 25th anniversary, they rolled out the red carpet with balloons and towel art galore, plus a sweet note and a complimentary bottle of bubbly. We had such a blast that we’re already planning our return, and our family couldn’t resist booking a trip for the following week!

This was my third time at this hotel and the service didn't disappoint! The resort is very, very clean, the food is good quality, even seemed better this time, and amazing customer service! Well Done, Riu Latino!!

Just spent a week at Riu Latino and wanted to provide a review: -Food is outstanding!!! The buffet is open for all 3 meals and so much variety. Hubby is a big ‘foodie’ guy. He loved the variety and quality of the food 🤭. -Sports Bar - although we didn’t eat here, you could definitely find something there to ease the hunger pangs. The coffee menu from the sports bar surpasses Starbucks (not really, but there are about 10 different coffees you could order), Cappuccinos were delicious. -Restaurants are outstanding. We tried all but one. The asian and Italian offer really great food and the buffet at the Italian restaurant is so broad, you don’t need to order from the menu. I could easily tell you not to bother with the Steakhouse, but everyone has that curiosity and like most reviews, it really is NOT worth going. If you do, just order something with one meat and not the variety plate for 2; there are too many meats on that plate and they require a multitude of cooking times and not to sound really negative, I felt the meats were cooked hours before. -Pools - they offer something for everyone, but go ahead and try them all. Each pool has so much to offer whether you want shade or sun, games, or something quiet. You would pay a fortune at any other vacation spot for these ‘cabanas’, which are free here. There are so many chairs you don’t need to ‘hold’ them early. When we arrived at 8:30AM, there were still numerous ones available. -Evening entertainment - was worth going but standard entertainment you would expect at a resort. -Fitness classes - They offer 5 classes everyday except Sundays. They were not packed classes. Marco runs all the classes and he does a great job!!! Can’t say enough about him. Don’t believe him when he says ‘one more’, cause there’s always a ‘last one’ rep to do🤭. Try them all and if you are a tipper (no pressure from me), don’t forget him. Note: all fitness classes are run not far from where you pick up the beach/pool towels. When I asked at the fitness centre where the classes are taught, they had no idea. -Fitness Centre - Exactly what you would find and expect. Don’t forget to sign in and grab a towel. And use the steam room it’s free, just sign up for times -Rooms are great. We had a courtyard room that was facing the new building being constructed. We absolutely didn’t mind as there was lots to watch on the job site from our balcony. I realize it’s not the view for everyone, but we did not mind one little bit. The room itself had everything we needed and could want. Even has a remarkable amount of booze, beer, water and soft drinks. I’ve never experienced an in-room bar like this anywhere before!! -Booze - we never experienced any long lineups whether at the pool bar, or bar carts which travel around the pools constantly or at the main bar in the reception area or the bar in the entertainment area. Not sure how they do it, but wait times are impressively minimal, if at all. Hubby thinks they could offer more varieties or higher-end options of alcohol and wine, but we happily made due with what was available. My only feedback is the ‘fun’ drinks I did try were extremely sweet..too much so. -CLEANLINESS of the entire resort was second-to-none. There are cleaning staff dedicated to the pool washrooms and at no point do you feel you are in a pool area when you enter these washrooms…I can’t tell you how clean they are. All hand dryers throughout all the washrooms actually work. Clear throughout the resort, is the attention to cleanliness. Note: I highly suggest you don’t pass a washroom without using it though, since there are only 4 public ones to use on the resort and 2 are in the pool area. -Beach is fantastic! There is no bar service there, however I read that in enough reviews that it was not a surprise. The bonus though is the amount of steps and the workout from walking back and forth from the beach to the bar, so embrace it! -10/10 from us. Well done Riu Latino!!!

The resort is very nice. It is new and clean, the staff was very nice, especially Augustine at the sports bar. The food is the only thing they can improve on. Buffet, Italian, and asian restaurants were good, but the steak house and other restaurant weren’t great.

We had the best time here! Hotel and beach were beautiful, and the food was amazing. The staff was friendly and fun!
