Dreamland, Maldives

Ten resort powstał całkiem niedawno, ale ma mnóstwo atutów. Kapitalny widok z każdego domku, dobre jedzenie, sporo atrakcji (gry, nurkowanie, zwiedzanie), ale przede wszystkim kapitalna, wiecznie uśmiechnięta obsługa. Szczególnie podczas posiłków, gdzie obsługują osoby różnych narodowości (ze Srilanki czy Bangladeszu), wyczuwa się znakomitą atmosferę, której najbardziej żal podczas opuszczania wyspy. Sama wysepka jest mała, ale dysponuje boiskiem do tenisa, siatkówki, można pograć rzutki, bule, piłkarzyki czy tenis stołowy. Do tego dobrze wyposażona siłownia. Super jest też restauracja z widokiem na ocean, podobnie jak Drink Bar, gdzie od czasu do czasu grają lokalni wykonawcy. Do samych beach bungalow również trudno się przyczepić. Przestronny salon, ogromna łazienka, całkiem nieźle działające Wi-Fi. Serdecznie polecamy wszystkim, którzy szukają spokoju i miejsca, do którego myślami będą jeszcze wracali nie raz. Mieliśmy przecudowny domek na wodzie - wszystko nowe, czyściutkie, serwis porządkowy 2 x dziennie, wygodne łóżko, świetne wyposażenie, po prostu idealnie. Wyspa jest mała, ale piękna z bujną roślinnością i zjawiskowym, cudownym, nie spotykanym nigdzie indziej jeziorkiem. Wokół tego jeziora zlokalizowana jest jedna restauracja, jeden bar i recepcja. Druga restauracja ma widok na morze, a drugi bar położony jest przy pięknej piaszczystej plaży skąd można obserwować najpiękniejsze zachody słońca. W barach doskonała obsługa i imponująca paleta markowych drinków (niektóre dodatkowo płatne). W restauracjach również miła obsługa kelnerska, a wyżywienie jest w pełni zadowalające. Hotel organizuje codziennie jakieś wycieczki i w opcji All jedna jest gratis … a pozostałe za rozsądną odpłatnością. Jest również dodatkowo centrum nurkowania, gdzie w ofercie są bardziej profesjonalne podwodne wyprawy. Jest też wypożyczalnia sprzętu wodnego typu kajaki, jetski, itp. Niesamowity jest szef hotelu, który na naszą prośbę zorganizował nam prywatną wycieczkę na bezludną wyspę. Było wspaniale - jeszcze raz bardzo dziękujemy. Nie mogę też nie wspomnieć jakimi niesamowitymi niespodziankami obdarowało nas szefostwo hotelu z okazji urodzin żony - to były jej najlepsze urodziny. Dziękujemy. Podsumowując hotel ten zdecydowanie polecam … po prostu szkoda nam było po 11 dniach z niego wracać.

From the moment we stepped onto this island we had our every expectation exceeded. On arrival each couple was seated with one of the reservation team. I think our gentleman was Ahmed, he gave us an orientation of the island and was warm and welcoming. We were then escorted to our room by the room boy who took care of our room twice a day. The island is just stunningly beautiful and the ocean even more so. Highly recommend the trip to see the dolphins at sunset and the nurse sharks. Every member of staff on the island was polite and friendly. They work incredibly hard to make your stay as perfect as possible. Please if you can, leave reasonable tips. They never expect it but the service they provide is exceptional. The food was excellent and varied. The cocktails were strong and a nice selection was available. We stayed in a water villa and it had everything you need from shampoo to fly spray. Our villa 228 was absolutely perfectly situated on the ocean side. The water was like an aquarium from the moment you stepped in, and the drop off was close by, this was the perfect spot for snorkelling to see the beautiful Travely and roaming Reef Tips. The colours underwater were breathtaking. This place is truly a paradise. Don’t sweat the little things, just arrive, relax and everything will be perfect. Very average hotel. If you look for only a few nights stay and can find a good price deal on this hotel then go for it but lower your expectations. Positive was really beautiful house reef and lagoon and very friendly staff (apart from one reception guy). In our eyes this hotel deserves only 2* as it is located in Maldives but completely lacks Maldivian feeling, one star for friendly staff and second for the house reef. Now negatives: - All rooms are quite big but are feeling empty inside, chilling area and a sofa is missing. - Water villas (we had lagoon side - north) have no table on the huge balcony and only huge sun shade umbrella and two sunbeds without option to adjust their angles. Also any sitting chairs are missing on the balconies. With rooms you have to be generally lucky: the south side water bungalows have no access to house reef (there is stone wall built underneath the bridge) so you can only swim from there around all the villas. They also are located at the edge of the reef so you wont enjoy snorkeling there so much as you wont see anything in the deep ocean apart from ocean water... - Beach bungalows from what we have seen have better and worse locations - some of them gets constantly flooded, other have sandbags at their balcony doorsteps, other have no beach just a huge stones, from other you can only access beach by walking in front of your neighbor balcony, some have ok-ish location - AC in the room was not cleaned since ages, was leaking inside the room and was moldy giving us sickness for a few last days of our stay (we set it to 23-24 deg.) - Generally all staff members are very friendly apart from one guy in glasses working at reception (no idea about his name) - he is the front person of the hotel and seems he really doesn't care about his work, rude and unpleasant to talk to, lazy guy who plays on his phone each time you come to see him, also if you want something from him it is always a problem for him, his English is really bad and when you see him you just want to walk away. Rest of workers are friendly and chatty. - Staff is undermanned making you either see waiters running as quick as they can all the time when you try to enjoy your food, or you have to wait nearly 30 minutes for you ordered glass of Cola at the bar - Waiters comes to take your empty plate away when you partner still eats - Waiters comes to get you to sign the "bill" (although you are on AI) when you and your partner still eats - we have often situation they came with the bill to sign it when we were still in the middle of our meal! - Restaurants are serving dinner until 9pm, but if you come late they will almost kick you out at 9:05 pm and you will see a bunch of them running around you to prepare tables for the morning meal already - Beach bar has no beach feeling at all, Lake bar is a joke as it is full of mosquitos from every afternoon. Local mosquitos in Maldives can give you malaria or dengue fever - Inner island lake is completely unnecessary. Swimming there is not pleasant as water stinks, lake is not cleaned very often. It is only breeding place for mosquitos. - Hotel lacks completely feeling of being in Maldives. Restaurants are reminding you of your last time being on AI in Turkey or Italy, you can not walk around the island on the beach as there is always an obstacle forcing you to walk near someone beach villa, beach for water bungalows has no shadow and has around 10 plastic old worn out sunbeds without cushions for 30 water villas!, most of them has a towel thrown by old German tourists in the morning when they walked for a breakfast - No daytime or evening entertainment - Hotel offers few trips that are reasonably priced, but has no places to rent a kayak for example (or any other water equipment apart from diving or snorkeling) - Food is average in taste. If you like English or American breakfast (baked beans with eggs or pancakes with maple syrup) then you should be ok. No lactose or gluten free options. All food is always cooked on either butter, or is with cheese and cream or milk. If you lactose intolerant then either stay hungry or bring your medications. Noddle cooking station is not good in taste at all. - Even if there would be any evening activity you need to walk to reception to read what would be going on, which is pointless as if you walk to the bar or restaurant from water villa you will never pass reception. - You hear the YouTube playlists they play whole time every day in the bars: chart songs with lot of Bieber, Mars and Pitbull. Feels like being in a cheap bar in Ibiza rather than in Maldives - Hotel provide fresh towels that are very worn out (bathroom), this did not bother us but as for a hotel in Maldives with an official 4* rating they could do better! - Our outside bathroom was never cleaned throughout our 8 nights stay, no one swiped the floor or cleaned it - Mattress very hard, pillows not comfortable, no blanket in the room available we had to ask for one - When you walk around island on the inner paths you have no Maldivian feeling (this wasn't our first time in this country) - there is no fresh sand between your toes only wet and hard sand that feels like walking on the field path rather than sandy tropical island - No nice spots around island, you won't see here picturesque palm trees on the beach leaning towards the water as they cut all of them to build beach bungalows around the whole island! - Again - this hotel completely lacks the Maldivian "Robinson" experience and is more like a small family run hotel in Italy or Turkey. Worth to stay here 2-3 nights to experience house reef and lagoon but that is really it here. - Hotel staff is not picking trash from the water or the beach, like no one really cares - All drinks provided in plastic bottles or in cans causing visitors to produce massive amount of trash. Minibar can only be filled by hotel guests by picking up cans from the bars (max. 4 cans each time) - Hotel needs refurbishment, walls are cracked inside and outside villas, AC leaks, mattress is disaster. It also needs better management and seems it is run by its employees rather than managers - Looks like hotel doesn't reply to any of the reviews which is weird as almost all good hotels tries to improve based on customer reviews

I evaluate the experience in three different categories: - Overall services (food, bar, ...) - 5* - Rooms - 4* - The reef and the beach - 4* - Diving - 5* Overall the service quality is amazing. We spent 10 days between 21st Dec and 31st Dec and the we never wear shoes. The restaurant (buffet) has incredibly high quality. You can find a mix of international and Asian food. We had all inclusive treatment and even the quality of wine, and spirit was excellent. Rooms are really big. We had a small issue with air conditioning (difficult to set the right temperature) but apart for this they are really in a good shape. Huge bathroom with big shower and tab as well plus one external shower really big. Only negative issue was the pressure of water in the internal shower was not the best. Huge window in each room looking at the beach. Reef and beach. The reef unfortunately is not the best. Lot of fishes (including many sharks) but the coral is completely dead. Nearby you can find many different island with better reef (we did many dives in nearby island and even snorkeling). While snorkeling still you can find many fish Sharks, tourtle, Eagleray, Octopus, ... Despite not perfect is still very nice reef Joy Diving. We went to Maldives to dive and all the dives has been excellent. The instructor and the organisation were very friendly. As all the dives in maldives it is really expensive but we got a real 5 stars treatment.
