Miałem szczęście zostać tam tydzień po otwarciu. Zwykle trudne połączenie, ale. . I . . .

Dobre jedzenie (świetne Poke Bowl i fantastyczne śniadanie) z widokiem. . . co jeszcze? Pokoje są naprawdę ładne i wygodne. Cały projekt i dekoracje były nowoczesne i przytulne. Całkowicie polecam! Bardzo podobało mi się to doświadczenie. . . podobnie jak moje dzieci!

Let me start by saying: this is not a real Kempinski hotel. It’s merely managed by Kempinski — and that’s where any similarity ends. If you expect Kempinski’s usual international standard, you will be extremely disappointed. The first issue you’ll encounter immediately: no one at this hotel speaks English. Not the receptionists, not the restaurant staff, not housekeeping — absolutely no one. For a hotel operating under the Kempinski name, this is simply unacceptable and completely impractical for international guests. My boyfriend and I arrived after a two-hour drive from Varadero, exhausted and just wanting to rest. We reached the hotel at 12:45 PM. While I understand check-in is typically around 2–3 PM, most hotels worldwide allow early check-in if a room is ready — often complimentary or for a small fee. When we walked in, we saw guests checking out, so I approached the front desk. The receptionist didn’t acknowledge us, didn’t smile, and didn’t greet us. When I said “Hello,” she finally looked up and simply demanded: “Passport and credit card.” — no “Welcome,” no manners, no professionalism. I politely asked if there was a chance our room was ready. Her response: “Not ready unless you pay.” I asked her to clarify, as in Europe it’s common to offer early check-in for a nominal charge (€10–20). Keep in mind: we were already paying $85 per night. She then informed me that early check-in would cost $72 — for just two hours. At that point, I laughed and walked away. When we finally got into the room, it became clear that the problems were far worse: • Stained bed linen • No fitted bed sheet — just a small, thin sheet thrown over the mattress • No blanket, just a flimsy cover sheet • Coffee cups and teaspoons provided — but no coffee, no tea, and no kettle • Curtains broken and unable to open or close properly • Cigarette burns on the bedroom drawers • The bathroom shower was leaking badly, leaving puddles of water across the floor And if that wasn’t enough: • Extensive refurbishment works were taking place throughout the hotel • Construction noise was loud and constant, starting from the morning and continuing throughout the day • Hotel corridors were full of construction workers, making the whole place feel like an active building site rather than a 5-star hotel Later, because I wasn’t feeling well (sore throat), I went back to reception to request a kettle. I explained the situation — but again, the same rude receptionist simply said “No.” Full stop. I asked to speak with the manager. A very young man — who looked barely 20 years old — came up to the room with a coffee machine instead of a kettle. When I asked where the manager was, he pulled out his phone to use Google Translate and informed me he was the manager. It was almost laughable — not only did he speak no English, but he clearly had no training to run a hotel of any standard, let alone one associated with Kempinski. The problems didn’t stop inside the hotel. The most serious issue: guest privacy and security. I had listed Dubai as my residence on the hotel booking, but never shared that information verbally with any staff, nor did I know anyone in Cuba. Yet, outside the hotel, a man approached me, claiming to “know” me and knew I lived in Dubai. He said he “worked at the hotel” (which I am convinced he did not) and proceeded to harass us for money, tours, currency exchange, etc. This clearly suggests that someone inside the hotel leaked my private information. When I raised this alarming breach with the hotel, they denied it — but the facts speak for themselves. ⸻ In summary: • This is not a real Kempinski experience — it’s merely licensed management • Severe language barrier — no English-speaking staff at all • Extremely poor customer service and very rude front desk staff • Broken room facilities (curtains, leaking showers, stained bedding, cigarette burns) • Construction noise and disruption throughout the hotel • Guest privacy and security concerns • Overpriced food and drinks with slow service • The only positives: a nice rooftop pool and a decent location — but they do not make up for the appalling overall experience Avoid this hotel if you expect true luxury, professionalism, or even basic international hospitality standards.
