Super hotel. Wspaniała obsługa. Restauracja Chikirita na plaży rewelacyjna. Mr Darko przemiły i pomocny w każdej sytuacji.

This was our first time to Ikos Andalusia but not our first time to an Ikos hotel having holidayed at Dassia, Aria and Oceania previously. On checking in which went so smoothly we were taken to our rooms and as it was after all the restaurants were closed we ordered room service - lots of choice and delivered promptly. The next morning we acquainted ourselves with the layout of the hotel and the view from the main reception building of all the pools and buildings was amazing. There are pools for children, quiet pools for adults and a scented pool all with first class staff to look after you. No running and claiming beds first thing in a morning which is something I will not do. Staff take you to your chosen bed, layout your towel and within no time a server is there to ask if you need/want a drink. From staying at other Ikos hotels, we pre booked our reservations so it was just a case of having a stroll around and finding them at our leisure - part of the fun of holidaying in a new location. We have breakfast in Ouzo one morning, Flavours on others and Fresco on another all different but equally good. Days are what you make of them, join in activities if you wish or just lay around the pool soaking up the sun. A walk out of the hotel either left or right is a good way to work off the calories!!! The beach isn't the best but if that's your thing you may be disappointed. There is a courtesy bus to Estapona and Puerto Banus each day in the morning, the market at Estapona is a great way to spend a Sunday morning and Puerto Banus is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours looking at the high end shops and yachts - you do need to book this before hand though as in high season it will get full quickly. What would be nice if there were regular shuttle buses to both venues throughout the day as then you could spend longer or come back earlier if you wished (perhaps something for management to look at) We took the Tesla out and although didn't make it up to Ronda (due to road closures) it did mean we finished up at Mijas village up in the hills - what a beautiful place this is. If there is one place you need to go it's this. We were caught up in the power outage which meant we had no power for 15 hours - not an issue during the day but it was a trial once you got back to your room after it went dark as the room was in total darkness. The staff during this time worked tirelessly to feed nearly 1,000 guests and they did it with professionalism and a smile on their faces which couldn't have been easy for them. Most of the al-a-carte restaurants were out of action so the majority of guests were looked after and fed in the Flavours in the main building (which had their own generator) it was like a military operation and a credit to all who cooked the food and looked after the guests. There are so many staff that made our stay so enjoyable - apologies for not getting everybody's name but a big thank you to Alejo and Yiannis in the main bar who looked after us well supplying John and Paul with Espresso Martinis and their favourite Chilli, Mango cocktail. Fatima and Maria in Guest Relations who looked after us, answering our questions and requests always with a smile and genuine interest - all a credit to Ikos and the larger family. The room we had was in Block 3 and I really enjoyed the sofa on the balcony - nice to use whilst it was still sunny in the late afternoon and could enjoy a 'little tipple' on the balcony whilst having a quiet read. The room was kept spotlessly clean with no intrusion at all, everything was done either when we went out for breakfast and the turndown services always whilst we were out having evening meal. Towels/toiletries replaced without having to ask, the mini bar replenished with our personal choice - first class service by first class staff. Looking forward 'coming back home' very soon.
