We can't fault the resort at all and can't wait to return !! The staff were all absolutely great and so attentive. From the amazing Afonso and his team at the welcome desk to the wonderful Lukas who makes you so welcome with his gorgeous iced coffees. We can't forget the lovely Miguel who drove us to our room on the golf buggy. The restaurant staff are also wonderful and a special mention goes out to Julia and Joel. Fantastic facilities all round. The two bedroom premium room was an absolutely amazing , modern space with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and two balconies totalling 76m sq !! Loved the adult pool where it was spotless and had plenty of sun beds. Also the wellness centre was a lovely retreat with never more than a couple of people apart from us there. The hotel train to the beach was also a special touch which we really enjoyed. We also found all the other guests so friendly......you always had a chat with someone. Well done Tivoli Alvor !! X

Amazing spa and pools. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was lovely and a good variety of foods and restaurants on site. Had the best time and will definitely be going back.

Overview: Tivoli is a very good resort, in comparison to other all inclusive hotels I have been to previously, it had a lot of options ref pools, but especially food & drinks. The hotel has 1 main buffet, a BBQ/Grill area and inside buffets near to that which were open from around late morning to late afternoon serving snacks/salad etc. The hotel is generally well kept and the rooms are kept clean to a decent standard with bottled water restocked every day. Food & drink: The food and drink options were the most impressive thing with this resort, lots of options and a change of theme in the main buffet every evening. The 3 on site restaurant options were good but nothing out of this world although mad med out of the 3 offered the most flavoursome meals & options for starters (buffet style in all restaurants for starters/desserts). The drinks were nice and generally wasn’t a long queue or wait, the evening was the busiest time as expected but wouldn’t take longer than 4-5 mins to get served. Premium members had options of top brands of alcohol, but no option to have them if not premium even if you wanted to pay. Entertainment: We found the entertainment quite poor in all honesty, 1 evening was a moulin rouge caberet style which wasn’t completely child appropriate (nothing crazy but just my opinion), a really boring magician, an “around the world” dance crew (same dancers as caberet) and ironically a clown who was probably the most entertaining of the lot! Location: For me the location was the worst part of the resort (not the resorts fault), but as a family with a 2 year old in the evening it was the entertainment or a small playground as options, although for older kids there was a padel cage and football/basketball court which seemed to be in use majority of the time and sometimes big matches between kids/parents in the evenings which was nice. There was generally nothing around the hotel a couple of restaurants and of course Alvor beach closeby with a train provided from the hotel that took you there but apart from that not a whole lot nearby. Pros: - As mentioned good options and quality food & drinks. - general cleanliness of rooms and resort - Helpful and friendly staff - plenty of space and rarely overcrowded (always sun beds available around all pools) - Golf courts which took you to/from your room if required - on site market with bouncy castle/dj one of the evenings - on-site shop for essentials - Coffee tent area which provided shade and a cool area to chill out for a small while - beds were comfy and really spacious - spa with treatments (didn’t get a chance to use) Cons (some petty but worth noting): - Not much to do on-site especially for children under 5 - bin in the room was really small (not great for parents with dirty nappies etc) - lack of toilets around the resort - only 2 bars 1 of which was shut by 10pm (1 at adult pool also) - sometimes at the buffet there was no mugs/glasses for a drink - air con turned off every time balcony door was opened and wouldn’t turn back on when closed, you would have to turn it back on every time Overall I think as a couple/family without kids looking for a relaxing getaway or a rest and some indulgence it’s perfect and maybe would give a 5 in this case, but for a young family with a toddler it’s maybe not best suited but it wasn’t bad at all and not as bad as other comments may claim. Couldn’t fault any of the staff as they make you feel welcome also say hello and some even just stop for a chat, loud music through the day by the main pool and an adult only pool which was quiet with a bar. Never really felt like you could spend more than a week there probably 4-5 days would be better but really not a bad experience. Although with a few tweaks this resort could have the potential to be outstanding.
