Azul Beach Resort Negril

Second time to the azul first time it was a TUI sensatory and it was brilliant This time , not so good The setting of this hotel is one of the best in the Caribbean, the beach and sea are stunning We were given an upgrade to a swim up room and it’s beautiful as was the last room that we were in The problem this time appears to be a management thing as we talked to several of the fabulous staff and they agree that it’s gone downhill and were eager for us to tell the bosses First the restaurants, they only open one per day+a buffet restaurant This means big waits to try to get in to the one that’s open, and if you do wait the 2 hours to get in most of the menu is gone. There are supposed to be 2 buffet restaurants , one has been closed for the 4 days that we have been here. The Garfield has also been closed. The tables inside are all made up but they don’t open it? The mahogany buffet is open but there are some very strange problems there, no carving knife for the bread or napkin for handling it so people are just tearing off what they want. There are no condiments on the tables? You have to ask and they bring you a tiny satchet Most of the food is Luke warm to cold no matter what time you arrive. The worst thing though for us is the INCREDIBLY LOUD music at the pools. You cannot get away from it. For such a beautiful beach to be ruined by such over the top noise pollution is really sad. This is a very expensive hotel , take a tip, the hotels in bloody bay are better run and are cheaper. If you drink all day, love music so loud that you can’t think and you don’t eat hot food you would love it. I don’t think that this hotel will be open next year There are so few guests

7 mile beach didn’t disappoint. This is our first trip to Negril. Room was spacious and AC worked well. Upgrades needed to decking, more beach and poolside chairs needed. People would keep their swim floats and other things on their chairs overnight so finding chairs was tough. We ended up doing the same and collecting beach towels for the next day so we had some. I didn’t like doing this but due to lack of towels we needed too. Some guests did not have towels in room due to laundry done off site. Breakfast buffet had a nice variety of items and Kaydene was so upbeat and friendly she made a great first impression in the morning. Hyacinth made the best omelettes too. Our bartender Damian was amazing and played along with our drinking games in the afternoon. If you’re looking for a place that serves you pool or beachside this is not the place. Each night there was some form of activity and Patsy was enthusiastic and made the guests feel welcome and included. She even had a dance off with a young girl who was such a great dancer. The night of the silent disco was a lot of fun. It was nice to have a little entertainment in the evenings. Pauline was our housekeeper and she did a great job. Zach was security and he was friendly and helpful. Carlos was our bell hop and manhandled the luggage for 6 ladies and all our necessities. We did have rain part of most of our days but this is not the resorts fault. Beauty of it all is you get wet in the caribbean anyway. There is large hot tub at the pool near the lobby that felt amazing! we did go to the Boardwalk just down the beach for the BEST lobster we have ever eaten. A taxi ride to Rick’s for the the afternoon was entertaining.

The resort is old and in disrepair and is not as advertised. The check in process was completely disorganized and it seemed as though they were trying to sell us some Prestige membership. Two women walked us all around instead of showing us to our rooms and told us not to talk to anyone else at the front desk, just them. It felt very uncomfortable. The complimentary drinks at arrival were nasty tasting, not sure what they were supposed to be. The pools are old and dirty as well as the beach chairs. Nothing has been taken care of. There are a few umbrellas but not enough to service the beach. The rooms are dated. We had 5 traveling in our family and the pull out was old and broken. The food is awful. Although they advertise gourmet food, there is 1 or 2 restaurants open a night and a buffet and the food is disgusting. We had a staff server say they would never eat the food there. It’s gross and not the many options they falsely advertise. The alcohol is another problem. It’s not top shelf and it’s watered down. The drinks were always awful. They often ran out of things like the fake Tito’s. The beach towels were hard to find and disgusting looking. The beach chairs and area were never cleaned up. The staff are not friendly and could care less about hospitality. At one point two of the house cleaners were screaming at each other. There are a lot of flies in the buffet area, called the Mahogany. It’s gross to have them flying all around you. They tried to charge $150 USD for a missing bracelet which was left behind in the Asian restaurant but when we went back it was missing. The bathrooms of the lobby were disgusting. Overall the place is a scam. We ate our meals out because the food was so bad. I’ve put in a complaint with management. They know it’s bad just not sure what they will do about it. Stay away from this place.
