Lovely hotel in a lovely location, some great staff but unfortunately the whole place is not firing on all cylinders. When we arrived to check in the couple in front were offered a welcome drink and given what looked like 5* service. However when it came to our turn to check in no such welcome was forthcoming. In the end my wife had to ask for a drink of water as it was very warm. We were showed to our room by a hotel porter who was very polite and professional. Our room was on the small side with great views over the Cala. I didn’t quite understand the lack of privacy with a glass panel and bamboo blind from the bathroom to the rest of the room. After unpacking and showering my wife was complaining about a sharp pain in her foot. I had to remove a very small shard of glass from her foot. I can only assume a glass had accidentally been broken previously and not properly cleaned up. I went to report this to reception requesting that the floor be thoroughly cleaned due to me having to remove glass from my wife’s foot and did not even receive an apology. However the room did get cleaned and no further issues. We had our kettle removed and replaced by a Nespresso coffee machine but no coffee pods. I asked for the kettle to be replaced which Robbie sorted out. However no tea bags as requested. Coffee pods arrived on the last day. We were half board and were given a bill of over €110 for our first evening meal which consisted of a skewer of beef and some roasted veg each. One of the staff eventually removed that from our bill and we paid for the drinks. This happened on 3 occasions! The biggest issue is the standard of food at this hotel. The breakfast hot food is barely warm. However the fresh fruit, and continental spread was very good. One evening we just wanted the chilli from the servery. However we had to send it back as it was cold, not warm but cold. The plates of food reappeared after 5 mins and was still cold. At this point I raised my dissatisfaction with the head waiter and left. We spoke with Robbie who apologised and sorted out for us to eat in the other restaurant. The variety of food was limited with the set menu not changing and I only found out there was a specials menu on the last night when a couple asked what was on the specials!?! The pools are of a good standard however the new beach club pool is a minimum spend policy which was disappointing as we were informed €65 each for certain beds and the Balinese beds €200 but with that you get champagne! On the upper pool the Balinese beds were €30 with an alternative sunbed with no mattress. We signed up to a couple of the activities, the art and the herbal mixology where you make your own liqueur. Both activities were excellent. However you have to sign up on arrival to avoid not making the list. Some of the more popular activities were already fully booked. Unfortunately this was not a 5* experience, certain elements falling well short and certain staff letting the rest of the team down. We stayed last year at a 5*in Menorca that knocked spots off the Hilton. We are looking to return to Ibiza in Sep, I would love to come and stay again but unfortunately find myself looking at other hotels.

We had the most relaxing time at Cala San Miguel. We had one of the smaller rooms but it was still beautiful. From our welcome at reception until our departure, the staff were amazing- special shout out to Marta at Savina for her service. We took part in some of the activities and these were great- highly recommend. We were there as a couple but I think it would be a great place to come solo and then you can meet folk at the activities. Food was great. Drinks and snacks are pretty pricey but guess that just comes with the Hilton name. There was great entertainment in the hotel throughout the day and with evening meals but we would have liked some of these acts to play later as there’s not much of a vibe after dinner service. A wee cocktail and some music would have been nice after dinner. Pool side service at the quieter pool wasn’t really a thing and that would have made our experience just that bit better- perhaps an app or something to order to save staff having to come out round there. Overall, a wonderful stay and can’t wait to come back.

I was shocked the food at pool was amazing best croqueras de Hamon best chicken club sandwich …. And the personnel smiling and professional I will come back for sure

Arriving to this property with some mixed reviews at the front of our mind we were delightfully surprised every step of the way. I will come to one or two areas for improvement but the overall impression you should have booking this property is that you will be well looked after from arrival to departure. The staff all have a super friendly attitude to guests; within reason, no request is too difficult and there is always a willingness to help deliver the best by their customers. The pool areas are expansive; this makes it easy to find a lounger no matter the time of day. The Beach Club is a phenomenal addition of late, and Laura here was a standout - delivering amazing service every time we saw her and always with a smile. The Club area / room / breakfast was a standout and something I would most definitely recommend. Lovely bright and up to date rooms, very comfortable beds and good amenities from Natura Blisse. Marie Carmen in the Club for breakfast and pool service was outstanding - she said she was relatively new but she was an absolute standout. So friendly, warm and made every effort to welcome us each time; I hope she is rewarded as she is someone who should be leading anyone new to the hotel. From a front desk perspective, things just need tightened up; better communication, perhaps more effective handovers - we were a day late thanks to a cancelled flight and it seemed to take them by surprise when we arrived the next day, a theme that reoccurred at checkout also. Nothing major but an explanation required every time. We were also not communicated just what benefits we had as part of “The Club Experience” on arrival - possibly again down to the messy check in experience. Overall, I will return when next visiting the north of the island. And will highly recommend to friends and family. I suggest you book in if you want a gorgeous location, the friendliest of staff and consistent amenities above those of which can be readily found across the island.

The most relaxing and chilled hotel, from the beautiful surroundings to the comfort of the rooms and all areas were you can just chill, the only moan is the sun loungers at the top hotel have no cushions so not as comfy as the beds at the beach club, the staff are so fantastic and super friendly and helpful, a couple to mention is Marta from the beach club restaurant and Lara from the hotel restaurant on the ground floor, who made our holiday as they are so lovely and friendly, can’t not give Pepe in the top restaurant a mention he is great a funny character but professional too. Also Robbie, Marta, Giles go above and beyond to make sure your experience is special. See you again Cala San Miguel
