Fenomen Plitvice

Clean and surrounding areas are beautiful. We stayed in the PINUS cabin. The bedrooms are up a very steep and narrow staircase and the bathroom down. Just a tip if you are looking to book. Bring provisions. Water, wine, snacks. It’s a long way up and once you’re there you won’t be leaving unless you are going down the park (which is GORGEOUS and a “DO NOT MISS” If you love the outdoors. Nice restaurant staff and a quiet intimate setting. When we checked in the impression was of am over booked busy restaurants with no reservations. Communication is everything. They could be a bit more welcoming. There was one large map in reception. They rattle off the 8 different options of the park which no one could remember. A paper map which is common would have been appreciated. Better towels and not charging 3€fl for your second room tea bag may also be nice touches.

While driving on the one-lane, 2-way road to the resort was not for the faint-hearted, the reward when reaching it more than made up for it. It was nestled in the nice wilderness with beautiful cottages. The room was good-sized, clean, comfortable and cosy which made one felt at home. A big ground to wander around with few view points of the lakes with one which is 500m from the resort which to me is the second best view of the lakes(The best view is near the entrance 1 to the lakes). Breakfast was decent with good service. Location is an easy 10min to the entrance 1 of the lakes. The restaurant was not open in the winter and we were given good recommendation to nearby restaurants. A very comfortable stay in the wilderness despite the daily drives along the one lane road(which we sort of got used to it after two days).

Lovely hotel, largely made up of independent chalet's served by a central restaurant building and a separate jacuzzi sauna chalet. Chalets are cosy and nicely decorated, food at the restaurant is good. Breakfast a bit limited but still good. The surroundings are lovely.

We could only stay one night and we will forever regret not staying longer. Calling this a hotel doesn’t share its charm, calling it a campsite doesn’t convey its elegance. Just look at the pictures. It’s a beautiful place! The staff was very friendly and whisked our bags off to our room before we could even ask. The breakfast was personal while also having a small buffet. We would love to return one day, this place really is something special.

Rustic village style hotel in the forest. We stayed in “Fagus” which is a converted barn with a pleasant sitting room, shower and kitchen on the ground floor and bedroom/bathroom up a very steep and narrow staircase. Food in the restaurant was good and breakfast was fine. The Plitvice lakes and waterfalls are very close (there is a good viewing point only minutes walk from the hotel which we only found out about as our guide in the National Park pointed it out - no one at the hotel mentioned it). Entrance to the park itself is a 15 minute drive away. Fenomen is, most probably, the best place to stay close to the National Park.
