This is a very nice modern hotel in a great beachfront location. It has a lovely pool and there were plenty of sunbeds available. The indoor pool and gymnasium were also very nice. However, what lets this hotel down is the restaurant service and quality of food. It is definitely not five star. It is just like having dinner in a big help yourself canteen. The food is average and not always hot. There is a good selection of salads, pizza and a choice of Croatian dishes but the deserts are limited to pretty much cakes with no ice cream or puddings. Drinks prices are extortionate, a Corona beer is €8.40, a bottle of house white was €44 and a bottle of water €6. You can’t get tap water in the restaurant. We also found the breakfast service to be very busy with a number of coffee machines and hot water dispensers not working leading to long queues. There was also a lack of mugs and glasses and some days it was difficult to find a table that was cleared of dirty dishes and set with cutlery. Teapot lids were rarely available and there aren’t any milk jugs at all. You would expect in a five star hotel to have real fruit juice for breakfast but all that was on offer was diluted squash from a machine that sometimes had run out. Housekeeping was all over the place. Some days the beds were made some not. When made sometimes they were tucked in others just folded in two or duvet pulled up. Floors and showers were sometimes not cleaned even though fresh towels had been left. Earliest housekeeping service call was 7:45am, other days not until mid afternoon. Whilst I appreciate it’s difficult to provide a 5 star service when you have 300+ rooms in the hotel it just felt like the management of the operation wasn’t good enough. 2 of the 4 coffee machines were permanently out of order for 10 days when we were there. That just isn’t good enough. This should have been acted on and sorted within 24 hours. The rooftop bar is beautiful but after 10 minutes sitting on a sofa without seeing any bar staff we had to go inside to get some drinks menus. So to sum up, definitely not a 5 star hotel (not sure who awards the stars in Croatia) but a solid 4 star. Management of the hotel and staff training need to improve to give customers value for money as this is not a cheap hotel to stay at.

We are staying for 8 days and expecting a true 5-star experience – unfortunately, the food and beverage offer is extremely disappointing and far below standard. I’ve traveled to Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, and comparing staying at the Khalani in Makarska – well this hotel doesn't even come close in terms of food quality and variety. Many dishes were clearly reused from the previous day. Eggs, American pancakes, and other breakfast items were cold, dry, and stale. French fries tasted like they were fried in old oil that had been used for something else entirely. As a family that doesn’t eat pork, we were left with minimal choices: turkey salami, chicken breast, and bony fish. That’s it. No proper alternatives as sea food for example. When I raised this with the restaurant manager (especially regarding the food quality), I was told I could "order rump steak or steak Alla carte." For serious?!!?!? For the price we paid, chicken and bony fish are supposed to satisfy us?! WOW……….. Last time we stayed here, there were amazing options: fresh tuna, steak, squid, sea bream, grilled to order – everything felt premium. This time…..not even close. It honestly felt like they were cutting corners and serving the cheapest food possible under the label of “all-inclusive.” Very disappointed and will not return. If food and beverage quality matters to you, I suggest looking elsewhere – this is not the 5-star experience we paid for.

We spent five nights at this hotel. Room + A big bed. I don’t have seen ever so big bead. It was all sides very comfortable. + space. The room was very spaces and It was all sides clean and fresh. + balcony. It was nice and view is stunning by sea. - the rooftop Bar/restsurant was straight under the room and there is very loud music so if you want to go bed before 11pm, don’t make resevation these room. - no warm water in shower. Yes, you read right. We speak five stars hotel and we have to speak this kind of aspect. We had to call severals time to the reseption because warm water ended. We talked about this situation with mechanical man and he told us that this is typical problem eight floor rooms. It would have been nice if they would have told us this problem in chek in. Breakfast was quite versatile but self space was quite full all the time. Swimming pool was quite small and almost every children were there with their bigs swimtoys. The swimbar was very nice complex.

After reading some other bad reviews we have been pleasantly surprised and very happy with our stay here. The staff have been amazingly friendly especially Sara in the dining area who regularly made sure we were happy with service, Nikola at the pool bar and Nana who always served food and drink with a smile. The bed was large and comfortable with an excellent sea view room, the hotel was clean and modern. The food had plenty of choice and always tasted perfect. The roof top bar was a bonus. This hotel deserves its five stars

What a fabulous hotel. The food choice is excellent and the dining manager Sara was so helpful, friendly and polite, the room was better than we could have expected and all the staff were so welcoming and friendly. We 100% would come back and we fully recommend this hotel and Croatia.
